TERRIBLE, misleading shipping estimates. Don't trust them.

Did not ship in 24 hours as stated. Shipped after 7 days. Money I spent on express shipping was wasted. Ruined our Christmas! Don't count on their delivery estimates. One package of 8 arrived on time.

Amazon.com has excellent customer service and are very fast to get new items for their online inventory's. I am in the military stationed overseas in Japan and have never had a problem with long delay's when it comes to how long I had to wait on a package. They usually average about 11 days from the U.S. to Japan, provided they have the item I ordered in stock. The longest I waited for something was 5 weeks, because they had something on back order, which I understand having worked in a retail outlet before.

deplorable, crooked, unlawful, poor business practice

I ordered a travel book through Amazon. The outsourced company, THERGROUP, handled the transaction. The book was extremely slow in arriving but what made this purchase fraudulent was that the company sent me a book that had pages that were HIGHLIGHTED in YELLOW. They tried to pass off a USED book for the price of one that was NEW.

Be very careful for the "INstant checkout" amazon will not play games you click it you bought it It was not a fast check out as I thought...I had found a better price somewhere left the site and later that day found I had clicked and bought and item without any confirmation ,,,my credit card was charged and amazaon told me that it was too late to cancel since it had been more than 90 minutes they even had the nerve to send it in 2 days delivery. that was my last order and used my credit card,,I imediately removed the credit card I used the last time, becuase they will use it without your confirmatiing they said that they will refund me but charged me the 6.00 to send it to me.

AMAZON.COM SUCKS

What a bad experience I have had. I was promised quick delivery, but that did not happen. I was then told the order had already shipped. That was a lie. Now even tho the item has still not shipped a week later, I am told that I can't cancel the order. My only option is to refuse the package and wait up till a month for a refund.

How do they stay in business ?

I love Amazon.com! They have a huge variety of products and often have great sales on their products. They offer free shipping on many items over $25 and have great customer service. Amazon.com is always my first stop shopping place online because I know I'll get what I'm looking for at a fair price and that it'll arrive as promised.

I first tried out Amazon.com for shopping this year. I purchased a large amount of Christmas presents through them. The check out was fast and easy. I did the regular delivery and it was speedy.
I did have to return an item and that was a simpler process then returning an item to a store. You can print a return label and then the shipping is simply deducted from your refund. I received my refund via credit to my credit card in a timely fashion.
Sometimes they offer free shipping and that is a nice plus.

Amazon is going downhill

I have shopped at Amazon for the last few Christmases and throughout the year for gifts, products, etc. I was usually impressed with the service and speed of delivery, but for the last 2 orders I have been extremely disappointed. The free shipping offer has resulted in a longer than 2-week wait period, missing the intended birthday and so forth. I'm glad to hear other people are having problems and it is not just me. Sorry Amazon, but I'll have to take my business elsewhere.

SLOW Shipping caused CANCELED Orders

I think Amazon.com is nice for one stop shopping. I don't think they have the lowest prices around however. I have recently canceled two orders because they wouldn't ship until 10 - 15 days after the order date. What's that all about? Oh well.

Free Shipping when they feel like it!

Their "Free Shipping" is a scam! What they don't tell you is they will ship your purchase when they feel like it, not promptly! I ordered something on the January 11, they will not even ship it until January 16th - even though it's currently in stock. Then they put it on the slow boat to china with an arrival date around January 23.

What a joke! Free shipping - Yea Right!

Their web page should read "Free Shipping when we Feel Like shipping it to you!"

When I tried to Cancel the order, as it has not shipped yet, I'm told they can't cancel it as it's in a queue for shipping. What kind of crap is this? If you have the item in your possession, you should be able to cancel an order.

Be very careful and never order on-line. Call and talk with someone. The on-line system sucks!

Mixed up account number, security concerned

Have been a customer to Amazon.com for years and I even hold a Amazon Visa card. I have been very happy with it until now... Ordered a Nikon D200, transaction failed. Fine. That's because of the security measurement from the issuing card company. Called customer service, got everything straighten out, retry the payment, still failed. Called Amazon Visa again, resolved everything again. Still failed! Now it triggered a 24 hours lock on credit card because they tried one too many times. The story goes on and on and on... Turned out, Amazon messed up my credit card number in my account somehow so the numbers don't match. This raised a BIG red flag they way they handle customer's private information. Canceled the order, on the phone to cancel Amazon Visa card as well.

In the past 24 hours, I talked to 5 different representatives on the phone. The people from Amazon Visa are RUDE, but the representative from Amazon.com was very nice. And I thought the "Call Me" function on Amazon.com was nice, too. But too bad, one instance is too close to comfort, I won't trust Amazon the same way anymore.

Amazon.com sucks!!! They said they had an Apple I-Pod in stock and I would be receiving it in 7-10 days. On the 10th day I received an e-mail telling me that they were out of stock and would not be delivering it to me for another month and a half. Now every store in town is sold out of them so I'm stuck out in the cold. Their overseas customer service is BEAT too! They don't understand english very well and offered no solution to my problem besides "free shipping" which I had already obtained upon my original order....nice. I will not shop at Amazon.com EVER again and will spread the negative word about their company.

Bad experience with Amazon

Had a pretty bad experience with Amazon.com. If they advertise something and telling that item will be shipped in 24 hours – trust me it will never happened. I placed my order one week ago and it still not shipped, and it was not holiday rush yet. Just avoid buying from Amazon now. I had called customer service a few times and get different explanations every time. It was my first (and last time) that I bought something from this company. I would recommend buying from the smaller company, where they care for their customers and keep promises.
