Bad, Horrible, Stressful

Please do not buy books especially text books from Amazon.com. I purchased a stats book from a seller who flat out lied in writing about when she shipped it. I had to buy an extra book because I figured she never sent it. And Amazon.com could not care less.Amazon will let anyone sell on their site and even lie with a written contract, please avoid and save yourself the stress, hassle and money.

The Leader In Customer Service On The Web

I'm a long time customer of Amazon.com and their service is by far the best I've experienced. I've done a lot of online shopping at different places around the web (everything from auction sites like eBay to clothing stores, music & DVD stores, cosmetics, jewelry, even appliances like TVs) but Amazon.com is what I hold up as the standard for the other companies I shop with. I've used their free shipping most often, and while they suggest it'll take between 7-10 days for you to receive your order, I've ordered things on a Thursday and gotten my shipment by Monday. Their delivery time is fabulous. My order is always in perfect condition (never any broken CDs) with a neat inventory/receipt, and careful packaging. Out of all the many, many times I've used Amazon.com, I have yet to be disappointed. Also, I've never had any orders with missing or incorrect items.
I LOVE AMAZON.COM! Highly recommended.

Easiest store to use on the net. Best prices on the net (makes buying things on eBay feel like your paying for gas)I buy nearly everything possible on there. it also has great reviews to read right there at the product description. I strongly recommend this site if you are looking into buying anything online soon.

Mostly negative except for price.

Website misleads as to shipping. Claims item ships 1 to 2 business days but it takes 2 weeks.
For most items you have to click as though you were buying (place in cart) just to check the price. You need to be careful and not click the 1 click button or you just ordered it. Also, to remove the item from your shopping cart, you have to enter a 0 in the quantity but the update button is very small as though Amazon wants to make it difficult to remove items even though you only wanted to check the price.
Amazon makes it almost impossible to find a contact number to call and talk to a real person so good luck if you need help.
Their prices are pretty good and often worth the mostly negative on-line shopping experience. However, if the on-line price at another reputable business like Circuit City or Best Buy has the same item at the same price, Amazon should be your last choice unless you enjoy the hassle and user unfriendliness of trying to check a price.

I was typically a happy Amazon customer. This time they disappointed me. I have ordered 3 items that were listed as shipping in 1 to 2 days, and I needed them really fast. After I finished ordering, the estimated delivery time was 2 months ahead.
When I managed to get in touch with them on the phone, it turned out that one of the items was out of stock. The excuses were:
1- the system was not updated, so they had no precise knowledge about their stock,
2- there may have been other customers buying the same item at about the same time (??? It was not an iPod Nano).
But then how did they know they were out of stock AFTER ordering?? And even looking at the item one hour after my order, it showed as in stock.
At least they made it up by upgrading the shipping method for the other two items, and waiving the shipping cost. And without any further hassle. Many other stores would require you to escalate through 5 people, and call 10 times before even dreaming about this fixing.

The first place I ever shopped online was AMAZON.COM and been a true customer since. I've literally purchased everything from coffemakers, toys, books to DVD's from them. They've never failed me in sending my items on time and they are always, always, always packaged with extreme care.

Amazon is great. Wonderful selections, fair prices (not always the best, but close enough), quick delivery. I have returned many items bought from Amazon and from other merchants by way of Amazon, have never had a problem so far. I got the $79 shipping deal and it has paid for itself. This makes it very convenient to send gifts. They have paired up with some good stores, for example, Target. I have canceled items just after I ordered them without a problem. I just put an item for sale on Amazon, so now I will see how that side of the business goes.

I was able to find the books I was looking for at a good price versus paying full price. Some of the books though, the shipping and handling was more than the book which made it not so good of a deal to buy. After I placed my order, I received and confirmation, summary and date I would receive them. My orders were on time with some of them arriving a couple of days from when I placed the order. Some of the sellers sent me an email asking me to notify them when I received the product and the condition it came in which was a surprise. I felt more than just a customer.

Amazon's customer service is a joke. No matter what your problem you will get scripted responses that don't come close to taking care of the problem. I've seen the quality of their service nose-dive in the past 9 months. I used to enjoy buying from them. Now, it's a rarity not to have some kind of problem. Trying to communicate with their csr's is impossible. They either have no comprehension of what you are trying to communicate or they chose to act as stupid as possible.

Cool Free Gift

I purchased three Lord of the Rings items from this store and was impressed by quick delivery and the excellent bonus gift, a complete set of Series II LOTR figures. This alone made buying from this store well worth the shop. Several figures in the series are no longer available in stores so it was a welcome bonus purchase. Wish they had more LOTR items though but everyone seems to be sold out.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!

I have shopped at Amazon several times and always been happy with the experience. BUT NEVER AGAIN!! I was about to order a $200 cordless phone and wanted to ask about the warranty on a refurbished item so I call a customer service 800 number that has been in my file, unused, for a couple of years. Guess what.. This line is not in service, it has been replaced by a 900 number!! That's right! They want me to pay a charge by the minute for the privilege of holding on until they have a customer service rep available!!
I refuse to deal with a company that is afraid to talk to a customer who wants to order a product!!

I just ordered an HDTV. They estimated delivery for Thurs 11/6 and I received the shipment 3 days earlier. There was a minor communication issue with shipper but Amazon was able to resolve the problem quickly and resulted in the early delivery. The shipper Pilot Freight Service also exceded my expectations with great service.
