Poor customer service

I just ordered and received a Ducane Grill from Amazon.com. My experience was interesting to say the least. The product pictured and described on the website did not match what was shipped to me. The picture and caption described 2 stainless steel shelves and when my product arrived, it came with only one stainless steel shelf and one plastic one. This was ok except, upon conversing with their customer service, they offered me $20 to go away. They said that if I wasn't happy with this that I could just return the product. Upon reading several forums, I found that other customers were offered between $75 and $116 back for this mistake. Hmmmmm, doesn't seem fair does it? I would never purchase from Amazon again!

I have had so much trouble with this site.
Took them forever to get my account and password correct. I've had to call to get orders to work. Hard to find a number. Then the books still don't ship.

I ordered an 18-200 Nikon lens in May, supposedly in stock, the order was delayed repeatedly until I gave up! They still claim to have it in stock, but this is NOT TRUE...

My last bad experience with Amazon's so called customer service

I have wasted 2 hours trying to update a billing address. I tried 2 different browsers and cleared my cache. The site is obviously broken at this time. All the update billing information links and cancel order links loop back to the same pages. There is nobody to contact in customer service. I just dropped over $1000.00 on their crappy site and I can't even complete my order. It would be nice if they could stop their merchant processing if their site is broken, or hire enough programmers to fix things when they break (but wait, that would cut into their huge profit margins!).
I have purchased from Amazon in the past, but I think that this will be my last time buying from them. I would rather PAY MORE to have someone to help me when things go wrong. Hey Amazon! Remember, the bigger they are, the harder they fall!!!

I ordered a Samsung Television from Amazon.com. It is 4 weeks later (3weeks after delivery date) and the package is still not here. Worst, it is difficult to get information about your shipment with Amazon. The challenge to find the way to speak to a customer service rep rivals my utility company. When you finally get someone, they can't tell you much. I just spent another 45 minutes trying to find out about it. I am on the verge of buying a TV locally and not accepting Amazons (if it ever comes) then disputing the bill. I have bought a lot of other things from Amazon, with no problem. This experience is going to make me think twice about using them again.

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABLE TO FIND BOOKS CHEAPER ON BIZRATE.COM, PRICE GRABBER AND/OR
OVERSTOCK.COM.
AMAZON ORDER DELAYED FOR MORE THAN A MONTH. WAS TOLD BY SUPERVISOR THAT I COULD RETURN WITHIN 30 DAYS FOR FULL REFUND. WHEN I TRIED TO RETURN PART OF THE ORDER THEY CLAIMED THAT I HAD RECEIVED IT EARLEIR THAN I DID AND REFUSED TO REFUND, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS WITHIN 30 DAYS. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS RUDE AND REFUSED TO LET ME TALK TO A SUPERVISOR. THEY SAID A SUPERVISOR WOULD CONTACT ME IN 24-48 HOURS BUT NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO TO LESS EXPENSIVE SITES WITH BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The price for comparison cannot be found at the Amazon.com website and their customer service department, even after confirming the shopping.com posted price was unwilling to honor the comparison posted price. Their email response did not address the question at all and the customer service person I spoke with blamed Shopping.com as having posted the wrong price...

I've had several miserable experiences with Amazon: Merchandise purchased on sale only to be canceled after months on end of being out of stock (when other retailers seemed to have plenty); magazine subscriptions that I was charged for but that never started; machine tools that took months to be picked up after arriving damaged. Amazon was great at selling books, but they've definitely jumped the shark, particularly with third-party partners and freight companies that are substandard. I finally had to throw in the towel and close my account. You'd think that an online company would be savvy enough to ask why a heavy user was dropping them. Not this one. Save yourself the headaches. Amazon is unreliable and growing increasingly irrelevant. Barnes and Noble, once an also-ran, even outclasses Amazon as a bookseller these days.

Amazon's customer service won't fix the problem.

I have previously had good experience with Amazon.com and I have always found their information about books the most complete on the web. However, my recent experience was so negative that I will not order from Amazon again.
Apparently, Amazon charged my $40 purchase a year ago to someone else. Since Amazon verifies credit cards and I gave them my name and billing address, it must have been Amazon's error. Naturally, the person who was charged complained. Amazon did not contact me, even though my e-mail and snail-mail addresses are in their files.
When I placed an order this year, it failed, without explanation. After several inquiries I learned a bit about the problem, but no one that I can reach at Amazon can explain or fix the problem. Does Amazon wants payment? Customer service has promised three times that someone will call me; no one has. Consequently, I don't know how to arrange payment. I've spent so much time trying to fix the problem that I'm no longer inclined to pay anyway. I just spent $600 with another on-line bookseller. I will continue to use Amazon's site for information, but I won't order from it again.

I hate Amazon now!! They used to be a great company to buy from before they took on so many .com's!! They have horrible response..horrible customer service..and their prices are not very competitive anymore. All of my prior purchases used to be flawless. Within the last 2 years their whole motto has been "Who Freakin Cares" I refuse to buy from them anymore. I didn't get my Christmas order until February and it was no fault of the USPS. Amazon was that slow on sending and I ordered in November! After many many many phone calls I never got a response from them. There are too many other web sites out there that care to do a good business to ever mess with Amazon again.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have been an Amazon customer for years without any problems. However, I have never had to deal with their customer support (if you can call it that) before.
When I purchased a 40" LCD TV a few weeks ago, I was pretty excited. Three days later, without warning, they cancelled my order claiming a pricing error on their part. This has happened to many others as well. Please view the following:

I tried selling a few things on Amazon.com, then since one of my shipments was a day late they locked me out of my account with no prior notice so I can't access my orders and they won't give me my money, it's been 5 months now and I don't have the money for my items and I don't even know how many people placed orders and are not receiving them. I looked into this and they have been doing this to a LOT of people. They will rip you off! They literally have non-existent customer service. Don't trust them!

Amazon lies about product being in stock

I ordered a Kett Nibbler kit on January 26, 2005. I was told it was in stock. A week later I was sent an email saying that it would be delayed until the end of February. I approved that delay and when the end of Feb came I was sent another email delaying it until the 1st week of March, I approved that delay. I have just been sent another email saying that it will not be sent until after March 10. I don't think it will ever be sent. I am canceling my order and will never order from Amazon again.

Very bad shipping policy. very bad order tracking. they give you unreasonable delivery estimates. even after i upgraded my order to 2 day shipping. they sent the product thro' ground shipping. did not even bother to refund my money. after repeated emails to them, got my money back. overall bad service.
