While I do make a decent salary I would consider myself a very big bargain hunter. It isn't that I'm cheap, it is just that I like maximizing my return on my money.
This is most evident when I travel. I love traveling but I feel it is ridiculous what some companies charge for services, especially hotels. When all I need is a place for my suitcase, a comfortable and clean room with a TV, shower and alarm clock, why should I pay $300/night, or even $100? My reviews for travel will focus on getting the best bang for your dollar, but not to sacrifice comfort or safety.
My wife and I are officially house moaners now...I mean house owners and are discovering all the hidden costs of keeping a home in working order and free of pests. Quality is of upmost importance to me when it comes to home & garden products. I don't mind paying more, as long as it will LAST. Unfortunately I feel quality is decreasing in a lot of home and garden products. I'm always searching for the best, but will not pay a huge premium for trendy stuff that falls apart.
Lastly I really like to read books, play with electronic toys and maintain my saltwater fish tank in my spare time and will try to let people know when I find products that I consider great and when I find poor quality items as well.
For books I like financial advice, travel and science fiction. I'm guessing in a couple of years I'll be adding children's books as well :) Electronic toys focuses on DVDs, digital cameras and computer accessories.
Lastly saltwater fish tanks are quite possibly the most expensive and time consuming things you can put into an apartment or house. Finding ways to reduce the costs of this hobby are constantly on my mind.
