Quick Note: I am no longer with the fiancee mentioned in my reviews up until around April '05. I'm relatively sure that doesn't really impact anyone's views on my writing, but hey, I just figured I'd throw that out there so that everyone's up to date. ;)
Recent News and Such ~ Winter '06 ~
Hey y'all! Well, life's been a lil' rough lately due to a chronic pain condition that's become worse over the past year despite different treatment plans, appointments with multiple specialists, etc. I also had two back-to-back surgeries within a few weeks of each other--one on each wrist for carpal tunnel syndrome release--this past spring. I've had about 7 or so surgeries in the two years (including these two) when I count 'em up in my head...whew!
Well, I'm looking at another possible procedure again, at the advice of at least 3 different specialists, this time to try and manage the chronic pain that's basically put me out of commission (literally). I'm a stubborn gal though so I'll definitely be consulting my brother who's a third year medical student and my uncle who's a surgeon at the renown Cleveland Clinic...I guess the scientist in me won't give in so easily to doctors' recommendations anymore after all the surgeries I've been through already, LOL!
If there's one good thing/silver lining to all of this, it's that although Trevor (my saint of a boyfriend) and I have been put through a great deal more than the average couple around our age this past year, we've come through it as a stronger couple than we were before. This past year has been the biggest "test"--beyond the wildest situations I could've ever dreamed up--that let us see just how committed we are to our relationship and to each other. Sure, of course there have been some rough times, but we've worked through each and every one of them. Looking back, I realize that this is the most mature relationship I've ever had, and one I'm proud to be a part of every single day. :)
Ok, here's some random crazy fun facts about moi: I've stood on the top of a glacier in New Zealand, jumped off a 28 foot waterfall in Jamaica and climbed a vertical waterfall in the jungles of Jamaica as well, ridden in a hovercraft and a helicopter, helped rehabilitate wild Bald Eagles and other birds of prey as well as songbirds, handled an alligator and large constrictors for educational programs without help and without ever having been bitten, opened for the 76'ers basketball game (National Anthem) in my high school's Chorale auditioned choir, been whale watching in Hawai'i, seen the Milky Way in the night sky over the jungles of Jamaica...and probably more stuff that I just can't think of at the moment. :D
