Surrounded by water on three sides, the park encompasses the 1,440-acre tip of a peninsula that juts into Truman Lake. In this part of Missouri, the prairies of the Osage plains meet the forests of the rugged Ozark hills; this location gives the park a great diversity of natural landscapes.
