Tried the hard sell, but I held out. Got what I ordered by whlspin I ordered a Canon camera from them on line. I too received the email asking me to call and confirm my order. Upon doing so, I started to receive the hard sell. Eddie told me that I had ordered the internet model, and asked if I wanted to get the US version with factory warranty, for only $20 more. I said no, I did order the US version. Then he offered to upgrade shipping and the carrying case, along with the US version camera for only $10 more. I said no, I ordered the US version. After back and forth of I'm a nice guy, and he's not trying to bait and switch, and he's not going to waste 10 minutes on the phone for a $110 camera to try and screw me, he said he'd send the US version. Shortly after, I received a confirmed shipping email with tracking number. The brand new,warranted, US camera arrived on time and is exactly as I expected (hoped). No real complaints other than they try to make you pay more for what you had purchased.

Great HDTV by debret Pros: Ease of use, clear and sharp picture.
Cons: All LCDs put out heat and attract dust. After much research, including the top consumer magazine, I finally made up my mind to go with the LCD TV. I knew I wanted the Sharp Acquos as a result of my research but was looking at a smaller model. When I arrived at the store I stayed forever watching all of the TVs, comparing them. I decided to get the larger 46". All I can say is, it's a GREAT picture. It is so clear and sharp. I now watch football and car races because the picture is so good.

Great even for older women by debret Pros: The Saucony provides great foot support, cushiony and allows you to stand/walk normally.
Cons: They look funny with suits! I'm not a runner. I'm a walker, an older one at that. I've been experiencing back pain after walking for too long. My niece, who happens to be a runner, visited so I decided this was a great time to find a good pair of shoes with her help. When I asked her she immediately said Saucony. During her visit we went to the mall. We were there for a couple of hours before we made it to the shoe store and my back was already killing me. She picked out my Sacony's and made sure the fit was right. I bought them immediately and wore them out of the store. I could feel immediate relief. Now when I shop I wear my Saconys. When I walk, I wear my Saconys! I even wear them when going to work since I have a lot of walking going into the office.

Jack Welch pretty much covers all aspects of corporate business in this book -- from hiring to strategy to compensation. The book is packed with highly practical advise that applies to a wide range of industries as well as corporations. I would strongly recommend every manager to read this and apply some of the learnings. This one is sure for the meritocrats! |

Lots of insight and analyses Cons: The material can get a bit dry at times. Greenspan, to some extent, has predicted the financial crises of 2008. The title of the book is therefore very appropriate.

The book is well written and may be separated into three broad thems. First, Mr. Greenspan's personal life, including his early career as a jazz musician, and his attraction to numbers that led to his eventual career. Throughout the book, the author gives the reader glimpses of this personal side. The second theme is around US economic policy since the 50s or so, but with deeper analyses of causes and effects of events taking place between 70s and early 2000s. The reader will receive some uncanny insights into the working of the fed, presidential and congressional politics, and plain economic analyses, and policy. Finally, there is a significant section on international economics, which makes very interesting reading. Key countries covered include Russia, India, and China, but other European and Latin American countries and discussed as well. This makes very good reading and is a must for students of economics. |

Cons: It's in Branson, Missouri which is pretty far from almost anywhere else. My wife and I went to see the show, "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" at the Branson Star Theatre. It's a musical comedy featuring the songs of Neil Sedaka.

It's an amusing situation. A bride gets deserted at the alter, and her best female friend convinces her that she and the bride should go on the honeymoon anyway. This isn't a spoiler. You find this out in the first five minutes. Anyway, they go to a hotel in the Catskills for the Labor Day weekend, and amusing things happen. There are plenty of laughs, the songs are great, and the cast is quite talented at comedy, singing, and dancing. My wife and I enjoyed the show a lot. We recommend it. And it cost about half what a similar musical comedy ticket would cost in any big city. Branson is pretty far from almost anywhere, but it's worth the trip. There are 100 theaters in town, and lots of entertainment. It's like Las Vegas without the gambling, and the entertainment, unlike Las Vegas, is fit for family viewing. |

Can't find books, bad attitude towards customer by pointedpen I will never buy from them again. The worst part isn't that books are not as described - this happens about HALF of the time - now they don't even list the author!! You can't find out who wrote the book you like, or find your favorite author by name, or only one of their books comes up.

Should have extended "Casino Royale" instead. by mrbeachy Pros: Flashy with lots of good stunts.Filmed in Haiti,Mexico,Panama,Italy and other interesting locales.
Cons: Far too violent for a James Bond Movie. No gadgets other than a fancy cell-phone. I went to see "Quantum of Solace" last nite at my local theatre. I was impressed with Daniel Craig as 007 in the previous bond incarnation,"Casino Royale".

It was pretty flashy,with lots of good stunts and fight scenes,but overall I was disappointed. There was far too much violence for a Bond movie, and it was hard to follow the action. I miss Bond's suaveness and joie de vivre,especially with the ladies.I also miss all the unique gadgets and cars used in previous movies. Other than a fancy cellphone,there was nothing in Bond's arsenal. Craig's character was so cold and cold-hearted. Yes this movie was about revengue for those who killed Vesper Lynd. But did he have to throw a guy off a roof; his friends dead body into a dumpster and kill so many so violently? I left feeling kind of empty. |

Cons: Not worth the price, unless you seek a fresh, simple taste without complexity or smokiness. Many bourbons has a fad taste, like old water bottled up. Not this one. Eagle Rare 10 years old has a fresh apple taste. The 90 froof is felt. Easy to like, though not necessarily interesting or intriguing.

The worst online shopping experience ever!! The poorest customer service ever!!! by watchnut1 I do a good bit of shopping on line. BUT, NEVER have i had such a poor experience as i had with a recent purchase from this store. i ordered a pair of curtins on the web site they stated the color to be beige or tan in the picture they looked tan ok. So I ordered them when they arrived they were sage green mixed with tan. I had a very difficult time getting thru to customer service, When I did i was told that what you advertised and what you delivered to me was 2 different things. The customer service rep said oh well just send them back I told here they were heavy and it would be costly to send them back. Since I was so dissatisfied I felt they should send me a prepaid label to send them back they said no they could not thay also wanted to charge me A !0% Restocking fee. I will never shop here again. i will also tell everyone that I come in contact with either in persone or by email not to do any business with this company.

I have thick, short hair that tends dry. I was excited to see the thick, fluffy conditioner come out the package. However, as I rinsed it out it seemed to not have penetrated my hair at all. After I blew out my hair as usual, my hair looked particularly dry. Even the husband commented on it looking dry. I think most drugstore conditioners are better. |

The shampoo has a nice smell to it -- kind of subtle and herby. I have thick hair that tends to be a little dry. The shampoo seemed to clean well and work well-- but twice got in my eyes and was pretty painful. I don't usually get shampoo in my eyes... not sure why this one did it twice. After I blew my hair out as usual, it seemed kind of dry. Even the husband noticed and commented on that. |

I liked the thick creamy consistency that foamed up a little bit. The lotion-y-ness seemed to stay on my skin for a little while in the shower, which probably helped moisturize. I used the sample of the body serum and body wash right afterward. It did seem to make my Minnesota winter skin smooth -- but the smell of all of the products took me right back to 8th grade shop class. The smell of the serum, body wash and body lotion is the same as the hand cleaner from metal shop class. Not a product I would bother to buy, and since the body serum and body wash are the same smell, I would not buy those either. I guess the smell of a product like this is really important to me. If it came in a different smell I might like it. |

I assume the sample was supposed to cover my entire body-- not even close. It says it should be used day and night. I would imagine that would be an expensive endeavor considering how much product I needed to cover part of my body, and how expensive these products are. It was clear and glossy and sticky but seemed to soak in quickly. It did seem to make my Minnesota winter skin smooth -- but the smell took me right back to 8th grade shop class. Cons: acceleration is slow, power access is oddly placed We got this car after having problem after problem with our Chrysler Town & Country minivan. We have 3 kids--all in carseats--and have plenty of room to maneuver. We have the middle row with a glove box and 2 cup holders that is between the seats, this is more comfortable for the adults. We love how the middle row seats tumble forward and that allows ease of getting the kids to their carseats. I love driving this car, the cockpit area makes me feel very secure.

Very Happy with this Car Seat! by jwilfar Pros: Well built, rock solid. Doesn't move an inch. Lot's of versatility.
Cons: It is a little heavy and expensive. Cumbersome to move back/forth between vehicles. I am very happy with this seat. Especially after having very bad experiences with previous seats.

It is rock solid, extremely well built. It looks huge in the store, but once I got in in my car ('06 Civic) it didn't take up much more room than my previous seats (Cosco Scenera). A lot of attention to detail was given the design of this seat (even putting loops on the ends of the LUAS straps so they're easier to tug on). The tether and LUAS (latch) are very easy to use. I did not try the shoulder/lap belt methods. But there are two different ways of using the shoulder/lap belt with this seat, so I could see how versatile this seat could be in different vehicles. I found it a little cumbersome to move back and forth between vehicles. This seat can be used as a 5-pt. harness car seat up to 65 lbs (Please Note: my seat was purchased in Canada and these are the limits of the seat up here - I notice other reviews say 80lbs). It can also be used as a belt positioning booster seat from 40 - 100 lbs (42"-60" in height). |

disappointed by sggs2005 Pros: worked fine for 18mos of its life
Cons: went dead in 18mos Purchased JE2160WF white microwave oven on April 2007 from Home Depot for $179, plus the JX2127 trim kit for $129. The oven went kaput on Oct 2008, life = 18mos : ( The display went dead, and no amount of coaxing and cajoling elicited any sign of life. We confirmed no problem with electrical supply, other appliances worked fine from exact same wall outlet.

Paid GE $100 to bring in a technician who was unfriendly and useless, gave us a diagnosis of "it is broken" (duh...), and when we pressed him to help us a bit more to tell us "what exactly" was broken, said it might be the thermostat or tube, and could not be sure, just seemed absolutely reluctatnt to apply himself to give us a firm diagnosis for the $100 diagnosis that we thought we were being charged for, other than clarifying that for "each turn of teh screwdriver for diagnosis" it will keep costing us more... We are in teh process of looking for a new unit, thoroughly dis-enchanted with GE product AND service, but purchase of another brand may entail a purchase of yet another trim unit to get it mounted on the wall... |
