Pros: baseball scenes Cons: failed comedic timing, relationship between Ross and his partner, very weak story

Pros: Watching this beat cleaning the toilet . . . barely. Cons: Bad script. Bad acting. Dumb ending.
Mr. 3000 is mighty proud of his accomplishment. He made 3000 hits in Major League baseball, and he has a slew of businesses (Mr. 3000 this and that) to remind everyone. Never mind that he was never a team player and that he walked out before the play ...
Pros: some funny moments, the chemistry between Mac and Bassett, Brian J White. Cons: too slow, too long, and not nearly funny enough

Pros: Aspects of Mac's performance, Angela Bassett, interesting idea in theory Cons: Baseball scenes not believable, doesn't know if it wants to be comedy or drama
Bernie Mac stars in this baseball tale of Stan Ross who dubs himself Mr. 3000 after retiring once he reached the 3000 hit plateau which usually guarantees enshrinement in baseballs Hall of Fame. Ross manages to alienate his fans (and the ...
Pros: Bernie Mac, the sarcastic sausage Cons: Milwaukee Brewers as inspirational backdrop, insufficient material, inconsistent script
“If you film it, they will come” – this is the phrase movie studio executives wish was the rule of thumb when it came to releasing baseball themed features. This genre has become a rarity in recent years and the select few that have gone on to ...
Pros: Bernie Mac's dramatic work, some bits of writing. Cons: Angela Basset, general execution, not nearly funny enough.

Pros: Funny Great rental Bernie Mac does great Great concept Cons: Constant vulgar language.
Story Bernie Mac plays as a made up "best baseball player ever" named Stan Ross who everyone loves to hate. He is rude to everyone and but he is a fantastic baseball player. The movie starts out with him hitting his 3000th base hit and before ...

I was in San Diego a couple months ago, and I swear that I walked right by Bernie Mac. I used to think that he was really funny, because of his television show. I think he was good in this movie, but overall, I was disappointed in it. The movies ...
Pros: Excellent Storyline, great acting, hilarious, highly recommended Cons: I wasn't ready for it to end when it did. Slightly abrubt ending

I saw Mr. 3000 earlier today, a friend of mine that went off to college was coming back for a visit, so we decided to go see a movie. It was either "Anacondas," or Mr. 3000, so, judging by how bad "Andaconda(the first one)" sucked, and the previews I ...
A very funny, entertaining, feel-good movie! by krhudson,Sep 19 '04
Pros: Very entertaining with plenty of humor Cons: Abrupt ending
Great entertainment! I took my 13 year old nephew and one of his friends to the theater to see this movie and they both enjoyed it as well. I thought all of the characters were well done although I felt like there should have been a little more of Chris Noth's character as the general manager. There's plenty of humor and a message as well as you watch these athletes journey to become true team players, and Stan Ross try to get more out of life than a reputation. The ending seemed a little abrupt to me and when the credits started rolling I found myself wanting a little more. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

Pros: Movie provides a solid plot. Provides a good example of how time changes a person. Cons: Supporting characters could have been developed a little more
I expected another Bernie Mac comedy. I received an excellent Bernie Mac performance. This movie kept me laughing and moving in my seat. It was also a very compelling movie in which I wanted the best for the main character.
Comedian Bernie Mac gets his first starring vehicle in this foulmouthed baseball comedy. He plays Milwaukee Brewer Stan Ross a self-centered heavy hit...More at Family Video
