Watching Shrek 2 was great and it was very entertaining. This movie was funny and had some cute and disgusting parts, making it as funny as the original. It really is geared towards adults, but it is just as kid friendly. My little sister held me to the promise to see it the first day, and I thought it was a good idea -- and it was.The puss-n-boots character I loved. The Pinnochio scene is hilarious and the movie kept everybody in the room laughing.The movie will get you as annoyed with prince charming as with! You will never expect what happens to donkey! If you are a Shrek fan you should see this movie, because it lives up to everything you would expect from the Shrek creators. You will leave the theatre knowing it was a good movie worth your time and money.

This movie was just as adorable as the first one. That in itself is no small feat how many times have we gone to see a Disney sequel and left feeling let down. That is certainly not the case here. I think one of the most fantastic things is the original voices were also in the second. We don't realize how distinctive a voice is until someone else tries to do it. I also was thrilled by the use of different characters. Of course the originals were fantastic but Puss in Boots is now a definite must have if there is to be a Shrek 3. The way he makes those big sad eyes will make you go ahhhhh, then burst out laughing. Go see it even if you haven't seen the first Shrek this one doesn't need you to have seen it. This movie stands on it's own!

I just saw Shrek 2 earlier tonight and all in all it was a good movie. It was not quite as good as the first movie, but I enjoyed it. It was pretty funny. The plot was great and once again they had several good actors as the voices of Shrek, Donkey, Princess Fiona, and Puss in Boots. In the movie, Shrek and Fiona go to the kingdom of Far, Far away (Fiona's home), to attend a celebration of their wedding. When they arrive, everyone is shocked at their future King and Queen. Shrek thinks that Fiona is not happy with the way either of them look, so he drinks the happily ever after potion to make both of them live happily ever after. The Fairy Godmother and Prince Charming try to seperate Shrek and Fiona, so that Charming can marry her. I recommend this movie to anyone.

Cons: Some humor in poor taste

Why is it that many children's movies writers think that they need to resort to crude and disgusting references to sex, flatulence and toilet humor? Don't get me wrong, I did like the movie, and my 3 year old and 5 year old did too, but I was upset that many of the references to the things I've mentioned above could have be omitted. Through innuendo, many off color jokes, appeared onto the screen and influenced children older than mine, children that understood the true meaning.

Cons: Bit more depressing than the last film

Well what can you say about the most awaited follow up to a film since scream!!!! Well this begins with a lovely setting with Fiona and Shrek on honeymoon, this has music playing in the background and a rip off of the lord of the rings. As this caption finishes they return home to hear the lovely donkey singing in their home. This is when they get invited to fiona's mother and fathers and of coarse it is eventful. This film is a little duller than the first but they make up for this with donkey and puss in boots who realy steals the show espiecaly at the end with puss and donkeys song also at the end of the credits there is a little bit with donkey and you find out why dragon has been so moody lately. This also has all of your favourites from the first film in it helpin to save the day once again.

Pros: Funniest movie I have seen all year! Little hidden tidbits for adults too
Cons: See it at night. Less kids yelling and crying that way you could enjoy it!

I liked the first Shrek. I thought it was funny movie with a top notch cast. But this Shrek, Shrek 2, was absolutely the funniest movie I have seen this year. I decided to go see it at a night time showing (less kids, which I advise adults going without children should do) with my girlfriend and we loved the movie. It was not what I would imagine a "kid movie" being. I never thought I would be laughing so hard! There were jokes and situations that were obviously geared toward an adult audience (when Shrek, Donkey, and Puss are coming out of the bar, keep an eye on the bottom right corner of the screen) with humor that children might not (and sometimes should not) understand such as the "BM" line. Great movie for all ages but even better if you are the type of person that liked the first one but wont see the second one because you think it would be for kids.

I adore this movie. My whole family truly loves it. This is a very clever movie that had us laughing almost throughout the entire show. It has amazing special effects, the characters are well developed, the voices are incredible thanks to the numerous talent on board for this project. If you can get passes a couple of minor bad words that some of your children shouldn't be repeating or asking about, it's a feel good movie the whole family can appreciate and enjoy.

Pros: The storyline, the script, the ending.
Cons: Must see it again because I missed so much from laughing so hard.

I knew the storyline, watched the ads and the trailers for Shrek 2. Luckily, they did not detract from the movie. I still laughed at everything.

In making a sequel to an enormously popular movie, the key is to have a good story and interesting characters, combined with a first-rate script full of snappy repartee. Shrek 2 delivered in spades.

I read the reviews complaining about the in jokes. I think that is what made it funny. I thought everything was funny. Just like the first time I saw Airplane!, I will have to see this again to find out what I missed when I was almost falling down (literally) laughing.

What I missed about Shrek 2 is that there were no out-takes like A Bugs Life. I can't wait to go again, and I do not even have small children anymore!

This movie is about Shrek's and Fiona's life together. I thought that it was much better than the second one. It was more fun. And you have to agree that the puss made it even better. It's a nice love story, though I didn't expect that kind of ending. But it's still a good movie.

I have to say I really enjoyed the original. Mike Myers (Shrek) and Eddie Murphy (Donkey) pushed all the right buttons. However, the problem with Shrek 2 aside from the graphics is that it over-cooked the clever stuff in the animation department.
With this follow up sequel, the line between photo-realism and animation was almost blurred at times. To me, the film was neither one thing or the other and whilst I can appreciate animation buffs will marvel at the fine detail and flowing locks of Prince Charming, for me that's not what animation should be about.
Good animation is about becoming totally engrossed in the story line and ignoring all the bells'n'whistles that go with it. This film left me distracted. I started to focus on how they did this that or the other and started to lose the plot half-way through. To be honest, I actually found it boring at times and if anyone else were to ask my opinion, I'd say it was just okay!

Great flick in all, gives the comedy we've all been waiting for since the last film. This story however revolves around Fiona not being an ogre and thus is not as good of a storyline. It however brings in great characters and Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers are hilarious in the main roles. A good movie for anyone young or old.

Shrek 2 is a wonderful movie about love, promises, adventure, and being true to who you are. It's a perfect feel good movie for all ages.

THE PLOT
Just as Shrek and Fiona return to the swamp finding Donkey in the cottage, a messenger announces that both the king and queen would like to invite Fiona and her husband to the kingdom. Shrek, relunctant to go, gives in to Fiona's request to see her parents. On arrival, things seem to be going badly from the start. There's friction between the king and Shrek and it doesn't seem as if this new formed family can ever feel like a family again. With the addition of the Fairy Godmother, more and more confusion stirs. Through the course of the movie, choices need to be made and secrets need to be revealed.

THE RATING
This movie is rated PG, which is appropriate. You may find some elements of sexual innuendos but all in all, it is enjoyable for all ages.

Cons: Eddie had just a Tad to many lines, but its ok

If you are looking for a great time at the movies, this is where it's at. There are laughs coming from all the characters Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas,John Lithgow and Julie Andrews throughout the whole movie. There are also many movies it pokes fun at. It is a lot of fun trying to figure out what movies their making fun of and the detailed stuff in the background of each scene. Many of the same characters from Shrek 1 and a few new ones who add to the comedy. Puss-in-boots was a great addition. The Graphics are fabulous. Have a great time and unwind with the kids or go by yourself, you'll love it. Don't worry about the few bad parts of the movie. Everything has faults. Nothing is perfect. People tend to have a open house for their negativity.

Sit back relax and enjoy a refreshing glass of a Cartoon Comedy.

Okay, I'd like to strangle every big time movie critic that talked this movie up so much. I absolutely loved the first one but found this sequel to be completely disappointing. Its not better than the first one. The jokes are not as good and the humor is more "open and obvious" than the first. Its still a good movie but it is not nearly as good as the first. Wait for DVD unless you have children.

This movie was everything that it is built up to be. It did not follow the usually expected sequel standards. This movie was as funny, or funnier than the first. It had a much better story line than the first in my opinion and was just at funny. I didn't go a minute at a time with out laughing. I was a little disappointed that the dragon was not shown in this movie. The donkey was hilarious though. I liked the new characters, such as the fairy and the parents. Fionna's father was very funny. I recommended this movie to any animated movie fan.
