Pros: A quick workout that's not too complicated. Cons: Denise reminding you every two minutes that "You're a winner!"
When I went to the store to pick out an aerobic workout video, I found the choices are pretty slim these days. It's much more trendy to do Yoga or Pilates right now. Well, no one ever accused me of being trendy, and I wanted a workout, man. That...
Pros: Two workouts on the tape are only twenty minutes long each, great get in shape workout, and lots of fun to do Cons: none
When I was younger my mother and I used to watch Denise Austin on TV every morning and do her workout. It was a nice thing to do with my mother every morning before we had to go off to work and school. It was only half an hour long so it was easy to...
Pros: Fun, Fun, Fun Cons: I wish there were three workouts, instead of two
When my husband and I got married I became a homemaker. Not that I don't enjoy my husband and my home being my number 1 job, but, my body was starting to go downhill. My activity level slowed down tremendiously and I knew something had to be done about...
Pros: Best way to sweat off the pounds, Challenging but able to follow moves. Cons: Need fair size space to workout
I started doing the Billy Blanks Tae Bo video's a couple years ago, and figured out this was a much better way to lose weight than dieting. His instructional video was great to get the proper form down but eventually I got a little bored with the...
Pros: fun kickboxing video that is easy to learn and isn't expensive Cons: none
A while back, I wrote about other exercise videos...but then I stopped exercising. Well, I decided to try again. My aunt works for Avon, and I ordered a copy of Denise Austin's Power Kickboxing. Long name - good video.
I purchased Denise Austins The Power of Kickboxing March of 2000. I have seen Denise Austin on TV for years and I've enjoyed her workouts before. I wanted a fun energetic kind of workout. The reason I picked Denise Austin is because she has had two...
Pros: It's really fun Cons: Poor warmup and instruction on general form
Now, power and Denise Austin are two words that I would rarely put together. She has however, produced a very good kickboxing video. This is saying a lot, for me to put up with Denise Austin for 40 minutes and have something good to say at the end. As...
Pros: Great boost for the metabolism Cons: Not good for people way out of shape
This video is awesome.
Lets start by saying I've recently gone on a new lifestyle change after hitting the scale and finding out I was 191 lbs. and only 5' 2".
I've combined a new lifestyle involving Aerobics, Weight Watchers, Richard...
Pros: Easy to follow for beginners or advanced Cons: High kicks can be difficult for beginners
I have been an avid runner for years but decided my fitness routine needed a little spice. I was well aware of the kickboxing craze that was sweeping the country since Billy Blanks introduced his Tae-Bo series, but I was not yet willing to spend the $39...
Pros: Two twenty minute kickboxing workouts, easy and fun to do, very intense workout. Cons: I would prefer one 45-60 minute workout session.
I have been exercising avidly for ten years, doing everything from step aerobics to weight training to daily six mile runs to slide aerobics. When the kickboxing craze hit the fitness world I knew that I would have to give it a try.
Lost 15 lbs in about 2 months. by starshaped,Mar 25 '04
Pros: This is the most time- and cost-efficient way I've ever worked out. Cons: None
I'll skip the descriptions of the workouts (they were covered in detail in other reviews) and get straight to the point. This video delivers. I've had great results doing the two 20-minute workouts back to back. I've been doing them on average three times a week for the last two, two-and-a-half months and I have lost 15 pounds. (To be fair, I've been watching my calories, too, but I am definitely improving my muscle tone and overall wellbeing, not just losing fat.) At the time I started doing this workout, I was considering buying a treadmill. Needless to say, I'm glad I found this tape for a whopping $9.99. Yeah, Denise was a little chirpy, but you know what? You don't even notice it after the 50th time doing the workout. Now that I've got the routines down, I usually mute her and put on my own music anyway.
