First dont really expect this to be anything like the game.

The story is set in a place called mushroom kingdom. Unlike in the game, the mushroom kingdom is a wierd city with loads of fungus and evryone has a bad attitude. This kingdom is in a alternate universe created when a meteorite struck 65 million years ago. All the dinosaurs evolved into human like creatures.
The only thing stopping the dimensions merging is a meteorite piece which escaped into the other dimension.

Koopa's is the bad guy trying to merge the dimensions and he sends his minions to kidnap daisy (who has the meteorite piece. She also turns out to be an acendent to the dinosaurs aswell.). Koopa's minions nock out mario and luigi who are with daisy and take her into their dimension. Mario and luigi wake up and follow. Thier quest to save Daisy also turns into a quest to save both worlds.

This movie has some funny scenes which are quite stupid. It also features Car chases, instant evolution and devolution and my favourite Yoshi, who is just a dinosaur who cant speak and isnt really in it.
