There are comedies that are stupid-funny. There are comedies that are spoofs. There are comedies that just aren't funny. This movie is a comedy that is just really good. Everyone that I know has seen it (I think I saw it in the theatre when it came out, actually.) I own it and someone in my household is often watching it. Why? Because its got Whoopi as a nun. If that's not a funny concept, I don't know what is!

Okay, the plot is silly and the criminals are ridiculous. But Whoopi's group of nuns are great. There are cute little old nuns that have beautiful smiles. There are young nuns full of energy and vigor. There is an stern Reverend Mother who watches those in her charge with wit. But when Sister Mary Clarence (Whoopi) comes to the nunnery - watch out - surprises everywhere and its almost more than Reverend Mother can take!

The music is also really great. I've heard the CD soundtrack and I admit that everything in this movie is well put-together - probably why they made a sequel. If you don't grin while watching this you must be a statue.
