  • I Could Listen To This CD All Day Long

    Mar 27 '04
    Pros: it's really pretty good
Cons: a tad long, some stinkers

Summary: When a boy band breaks up, as they all inevitably do, sometimes one or two of the group members will try to have a successful solo career. Of course, this rarely ever works. Usually the solo member’s songs sound like the boy band songs without the ...

  • JC Unleashed! ... Confessions of a Reformed Teenybopper

    Mar 21 '05
Pros: E-c-l-e-c-t-i-c. Crazily addictive, soulful, and consistent.
Cons: It's hard for many people to eliminate preconceptions about ex-boy-banders having no talent.

Summary: Let's just say that I'm not exactly in the minority when I say that I was completely obsessed with NSync, Backstreet Boys and basically all of the wanna-bes they spawned back in the good old 1999/2000 days. Am I ashamed of that? ...

  • JC Shows Us 100 Ways To Get Our Freak On!

    May 20 '04
Pros: Excellent, offbeat, experimental, adventurous production; great lyrics; JC’s great vocals
Cons: Too long; a tad overproduced; sold like a bag full of JC's crap

Summary: In every boy band (or girl group) since the beginning of time, there has always been at least that one member with the itch to go solo. And once the group establishes themselves and gains a loyal fan base, they finally decide to scratch that itch. And ...

  • Mercy, Mercy, Mercy! JC's Spectacular Solo Debut: Subtitled "Eat That, Justin!"

    Apr 18 '04
Pros: flexible voice, diversity, obvious pop intelligence, personality
    Cons: bad second single choice

Summary: Girl groups and boy bands are an eternal part of the industry. Whether or not it’s teen pop, r&b or whatever, you always have a fair share of each present. Well, as we all know, with any successful group comes the subsequent solo projects. The designated ...

  • JC Chasez takes a risk and steps out of synch on Shizophrenic!

    Apr 04 '04
Pros: Creative, gorgeous at times, eclectic, fun
Cons: A few songs just are too much.

Summary: JC Chasez is one of those artists that leaves you scratching your head in wonder. I really just have no idea what to make of him except that he is way more talented than I ever imagined. While his friend and band mate basically was hailed as the second ...

  • Hey Justin, this is what a solo debut album should be like

    Mar 23 '04
Pros: The ballads, his vocals, "Come To Me"
Cons: A few of the songs tend to run a tad long

Summary: So yeah, I’m not dead lol. I haven’t been writing lately because of the lack of good CD being released this year. The second I finished listening to JC Chasez’s solo debut album, Schizophrenic, I knew I had to review it. You ...

  • JC Chasez - Schizophrenic: 100 Ways to show a critic you're more than pop

    Mar 19 '04
Pros: gotta give JC credit for going all out with this solo debut
Cons: it's a bit long (much like this review) I- I- i like it! NOOOO!!

Summary: oh come on - admit it. we like pop music... But we're a music reviewer - we're not supposed to enjoy that stuff. We have a snarky reputation to uphold. so why'd we agree to do this? Bravado. That's what made us ...

  • Better than Expected

    Feb 26 '04
    Pros: JC's voice, song writing
Cons: Strong Sexual Content at times

Summary: JC has alot to prove. notice that co-frontman of the former supergroup NSYNC has 2 Grammy's and several hits under his belt, while the rest of the group spends their respective days answering questions to reporters about Justin Timberlake. In his new ...

  • JC Chasez WILL Have You Nekkid By The End Of This Album

    Feb 25 '04
Pros: Some decent dance/funk jams. This is a fun album.
Cons: Could've been trimmed by 3-4 tracks. Less filler would've made this album excellent.

Summary: When a popular group breaks up (and let's face it, they almost all eventually do), usually one member goes on to solo glory while the other members ease on down the road to nowheresville. It's extremely rare that more than one member of a popular ...

  • JC Chasez - Schizophrenic Turns Nymphomaniac

    Feb 24 '04
    Pros: Chasez can sang, risk-taking
    Cons: a few fumbles

Summary: One of the inevitable perils of being a member of a boy band is that people will without doubt use that as a meter to judge your strength as an artist. While the easy thing for JC Chasez to do would have been use the Justin Timberlake ...

  • Not Playing It Safe

    May 15 '05
    Pros: His voice!
    Cons: Cold shower anyone?

Summary: I love JC! This guy can sing his butt off! I give him credit for not playing it safe like his counterpart Justin. This album has a definite 80's feel and JC has his hormones working overtime. Somebody throw this guy in a cold shower. His second choice

  • jc chasez, schizophrenic

    Mar 22 '04
    Pros: amazing vocal skills
Cons: still has nsync stigma attached

Summary: this album was a great surprise, not being a nsync or a justin timberlake fan i thought i would hate it... But its the best collection of CHOONS ive heard in a long long time! very eclectic, there is a song for every mood ( if most ur moods includes

  • GO BUY JC'S ALBUM

    Mar 08 '04
Pros: The diversity of songs is amazing. "100 Ways" and "Something Special" are my favorites.
Cons: This is one CD I never have to skip tracks on, I enjoy them all

Summary: Amazing. That's how I'd describe this in one word. JC not only writes and produces all his own stuff, but he's not afraid to branch out and have some diversity. Finally an album that doesn't have 14/15 of the tracks sounding the same. Even if you don't
