Yet again, Consumer Reports reviewed discontinued products in the 2007 Air Conditioner article. I could only hope that this years product was as good as last years. I subscribed for many many years and now just go to the library when I want to research something to buy.
Over the years I have bought many items from CU and have consistently found that the discontinued issue is a problem. They seem to spend so much money on purchasing products and then they are so late getting the item to press. I understand that brands probably change their models to confuse the buyers and foil publications like CU but then CU needs to change with the times and not present information as up-to-date.
I would like it if CU took up 'causes' to help with such issues. Beds, for example...how confusing can that purchase be and how important in everyday life. But they do not disclose anything about the industry and so are not helpful as a force for change.
Ever since Chrysler (?) sued them, they seem to have gotten chicken.
