Pros: One solid piece, good for teething Cons: It's still a binky
In general, pacifiers have never been very useful in our house. My two older girls never took the bite, so to speak, unless I was holding the binky in their mouths for them. Well, this sort of defeats the purpose of the pacifier. So, I accepted the fact ...
Pros: Safe, baby loves it! Cons: Doesn't really come in larger sizes.
I have had four babies and this fourth one was my first experience with a Soothie pacifier. Initially I had told the nurses not to give my baby any formula or pacifiers. However I quickly found out that baby wanted to nurse for hours! I opened the ...
Pros: One-piece construction is safer, recommended by hospitals Cons: My daughter had to be forced to use it
When my daughter was hospitalized at 3 weeks old, she had not yet been introduced to a pacifier. That quickly changed in the Special Care Nursery, where the nurses stuffed one in her mouth (despite my hesitation because of my concern about nipple ...
Pros: Sized for a newborn, quality material, tab for holding Cons: Can be pricey, don't look like "normal" pacifiers
We went through soooo many different pacifiers with my first daughter, trying to find something to soothe her mostly just in the car (that's where she did the most crying). She never really cared much about them, however. But my new little one is a ...
Pros: Kid loves it, easy to handle, one piece design. Cons: A bit more expensive then other pacifiers.
The day after my son was born he returned from the nursery to my wife and I with one of these Soothie Newborn Pacifiers in his mouth. With absolutely no experience with newborns or any idea what I was getting into I assumed that my kid would simply suck ...
Pros: Safe, cute, nipple matches Soothie bottles, easy for baby to hold Cons: None
My two week old daughter is a "Bink Addict." She loves a good pacifier, and a "binky" almost always calms her down. She was whisked off to the NICU minutes after she was born, and when I finally got to see her, I noticed that the nurses had already given ...
Pros: One piece design, very durable Cons: Unnatural shape, too rigid
What is it? The First Years Soothie pacifier is a one-piece pacifier made of silicone. They have two air vents that serve as breathing holes for your newborn. The newborn pacifiers come in green, but I believe you can buy them in blue ...
Pros: one piece construction is safe! Cons: hard to find clip holders
We used this pacifier with kid #1 and kid #2 and were very happy with it. We received our first one from the hospital and we did try other brands, shapes, sizes, but this worked the best for both our kids. It is a one piece construction, silicone, ...
Pros: My baby loves it. Cons: The next stage is too hard and my son won't use it.
Initially I didn't want my baby to use a pacifier because I was afraid that he wouldn't learn to self-soothe and would always need it to fall asleep. I always thought it was cute to see the babies with these pacifiers because you can see inside their ...
The First Years Soothie Newborn Pacifiers are great for teething but not for comforting the baby. They are a lot harder than typical binkies. My daughter preferred something with more the consistancy of a nipple. However, on the airplane, it was the ...
We received like about 10 different kind of passies at our baby shower for my son. When he was born and we came home from the hospital we discovered to our horror that he didn't like any of them but he cried all the time so we set out on a journey to ...
Pros: one piece silicone designed to look like Mom Cons: A little expensive
As a nursing mother, I really wanted to avoid using a pacifier as I didn't want to throw off my daughter's latch. Two days after a difficult delivery and being sent home with a cranky newborn, I recanted that idea! The nurse and the lactation ...
Pros: just like the soothie nipples Cons: doesnt stay in a babies mouth, causes gagging
Our baby was givin this as a newborn in the hospital and she didn't like it.I again later tried to give it to her and she still didn't like it.But she only drinks from Soothie bottles. The Soothie pacies shouldn't be so big for a baby.Seems like the are ...
The only thing that helped my twins rest! by blakebradmom,Apr 21 '08
Pros: Safe, durable, easy to clean, babies loved it! Cons: Short-term use, next stage too stiff!
I just looooove these pacifiers. When I was in the hospital after my c-section, I found that my twins wanted to nurse constantly, and I was not able to get any sleep. The NICU nurses recommended that I use the Soothie pacifier to help satisfy my twins' sucking needs, while I could take a break. My babies loved these pacifiers from the start. The one piece construction is very safe, and they are made from durable silicone. They are very easy to clean, and were an essential part of surviving those early first months with twins. The problem with these pacifiers is that they should not be used after a baby is three months old. According to the manufacturer, there have been problems with an older baby sucking the ENTIRE pacifier into its mouth. The next stage pacifier is very stiff and my twins did not like them at all.
