I got two of these bad boys from a friend with 2 1000 watt mono block alpine amps powering each. I have them wired at 2 Ohms a piece each receiving 1000 watts. They are in a crappy sealed box that is gives them barely 1.5 cubic feet a piece to work with and they have already hit 148 on the DB meter. Thats pretty damn loud considering the type of box I have them in. GREAT tight bass even though im losing a little in the 30-80 hz range due to the tiny sealed box. I play anything from 36 Mafia to Van Halen to Hank Williams Jr. and these babies POUND, not just sloppy loud bass, im talking about super clean loud bass. Next week ive got a ported probox coming in that will give the subs around 2.75 cubic feet a piece to work with. Sound is awesome, just work with your gains and crossover points to get that perfect sound. Id say they might hit in the 160's but I will update next week with the results.

I have a single 12" DVC Kicker L7 in a large slot port box tuned for 38hz. I'm powering this sub with a MMATS D200hc. Sub is wired at 1 ohm. This is apsolutly amazing !!!! Car is a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS coupe. This sub strait up pounds !!! My amp's gain is set at 1/4 and the bass hits very hard !!! I liston to anything from Metallica to Nerd. This Sub sounds great no matter what is in the CD player.

As a previous owner of three round 15" Kicker Solo-Barics, I was quite upset when Kicker decided to change the design of their subwoofer. I immediately started thinking of some lesser known companies that had previously tried the design and failed miserably. I did however purchase one as any die hard fan would to any product. I must say that I owe Kicker an apology for my skepticism towards their knowledge in making and designing some of the worlds best car audio products. The Kicker S12L7 certainly has been one of better improvements to my car. The sub absolutely loves to hold onto the low notes that rattle your car apart. All in all I have been impressed with the subs performance.

Pros: very great SPL sub, gets LOUD
Cons: blows easily if you play it too much

I believe these are great SPL subs and great to play around with but the one thing I do not like is that they distort and will blow easily if you play them too much.
