Pros: Easy to apply, no odor. Cons: Expensive, ineffective.
Frontline Plus is still widely used for cats (and dogs) to kill fleas and ticks. It's a topical, once monthly product that goes to work in 18 hours for fleas, and 48 hours for tick. However, this product has been so widely used, that it seems ...

Pros: Now that it doesn't seem to work - none. Cons: Doesn't work
Expensive
Poor packaging/applicator design
I've been using FrontlinePlus for cats on multiple cats for multiple years. A year ago I might have said: "Expensive, but works great." This summer (2008), however, my summary is: "Expensive, and doesn't work." I see others have ...

doesn't last a full month
by sparks28,Aug 18 '08
Pros: none that I can see Cons: Didn't last a full month.
My cat is allergic to fleas (so says my vet) so I can tell right away when she has any. She gets large bite marks on her skin that swell and can become infected. My cat stays indoors but my dog goes in and out, so I have to treat them with flea product.
I've noticed that frontline works for about 3 weeks, max. It seems to bother her when I apply it and it leaves a large greasy streak in her fur. It usually takes about a week before I see her stop itching. After 2-3 weeks the fleas are back and she's unhappy.
I use Revolution instead. My vet said that some flea products react differently with different cats, depending on the cat's skin chemistry. Perhaps this is why it was ineffective on my cat, because I know some people who swear by it. I've had better luck with Revolution.
