Pros: Incredible performance, ability to "mark" non-radar threat areas, Does what the maker says it will. Cons: Probably the most expensive detector ever,
The Escort Radar (formerly Cincinnati Microwave) Passport 9500i is the most advanced, best performing and most expensive radar detector to date. It is also the best I have ever used. Background and Subjective Criteria for this Evaluation ...

Pros: Block out false positives, mark local speed traps, user customization Cons: NONE!!
I've been using radar detectors for about 10 years now and have purchased quite a few different brands along the way. But I've never become attached to any one model because none of them were perfect. I've had problems with getting tons of false ...

Pros: Top notch performer - best technical solution. Cons: no locking to mounting bracket. mount bracket not sturdy enough to support unit.
If you have read all the reviews in this section you will get a good idea of the value of this unit. I have no complaint after using on my first trip of over 2000 miles across country (Midwest to East coast). I am still amazed at what it picked up. The ...

Excellent!
by johnfi,Jul 20 '07
Pros: Functionality, ease of use, very effective Cons: None
I was a little skeptical at first in regards how well this would work. However, after a month I can say this is the best radar detector I have ever owned. It has already saved me 3 speeding tickets (I like to drive fast and was also testing it out.)
The features on this are the best out there and it's very easy to set up. It looks good, not bulky and all around great product.
I brag about it to everyone that rides in my car. Especially with the GPS intelligence! It not only saves me from speeding tickets, it's also a great conversation! I recommend this to everyone. Great Product- great job Escort!

Escort 9500i Saved me from a ticket
by johnmills20,Jul 30 '07
Pros: Less false alarms, easy to use and reminders for speed traps. Cons: None that I can see yet, but I will repost if I see any.
I picked up the Escort 9500i a couple of weeks ago and it has already saved me several times. I am not very technical, so it needs to be easy to use. I particularly like the True Lock feature that helps cut down false alarms. I have heard that a lot of radar detectors have problems with garage door openers and GPS signals giving false alarms but have not had any false alarms with my Escort detector. The location finder is also very handy. I have to drive through a couple of residential areas on my way to work and I know that the police have set up at least three speed traps. The location finder helps remind me when I am coming up to one. The ticket that I didn't get would have been due to one of these speed traps. I wasn't really going very fast, but the detector warned me right on cue. I will continue to use this detector and would recommend it to anyone who asks.

I 95 Maine Interstate
by pushynative,Jul 22 '08
Pros: The GPS feature is great, with a speed alert . Cons: If the Cops have Spectre they can detect you.
Anyone that travels interstate I-95 in Maine can appreciate the necessity for the best radar detector on the market, and this one does it. I havent owned one in years but, after traveling I-95 in Maine where the State Troopers no longer ride in patrol cars, it was a must. I detected nearly fifteen unmarked troopers driving Mustangs to Ford Taurus and if it wasnt for my 9500i, Id be spitting bullets.

Great Detector
by lljg,Jul 22 '07
Pros: Mark Speed Traps Cons: none
The 9500i is awesome. I recommend it to anyone. It is a bit pricey, but with a GPS system built in to identify speed traps, it's well worth it.

Cool Toy
by judgesmails,Jul 22 '07
Pros: Quieter
Marking Speed Traps
GPS Cons: $450 (but well worth it)
I had another radar detector in the past, and the 9500i absolutely blows it away. For $450, it should. The GPS feature in conjunction with the Mark Location make me feel like I can't be caught. Will I? Maybe. But for now the detector has almost paid for itself - and that's after just a couple weeks. Plus there are a few places I drive by at work that emit radar. With my last RD, I had to listen to this false positives all the time. Now I can lock out the false positives - much quieter.

Love IT!!!!
by rodneystri,Jun 26 '07
Pros: Can't be beat Cons: None
My last one was the 8500 X50. That one is also nice and still have it in its orig box. I love this new one as far as being able to lock out false alerts and to be able to mark any and all speed traps. This one will last me for several years.
