Pros: Cleans pool walls and waterline well; helps keep pool clean; saves cleaning time Cons: Motor rated at only 3000 hours; light duty only; filter bag elastic stretches loose.
After we repaired, refinished and epoxy-painted our 20'x40' concrete pool, it still got dirty too easily. With dozens of trees, birds, and frogs around, it seems to attract contamination and debris which required 10-12 hours per week cleaning in ...

Dolphin Died in 3 years
by stldonw,Apr 04 '08
Pros: cleaned well when new Cons: only lasted 3 seasons
Heavy to lift
I paid over $1000.00 for a Dolphin and just barely got 3 season's of use when it began to quit after running only 10 minutes. I finally sent it in for repair and was told that the motor unit was bad, not covered by warranty, and it would cost $569.00 to replace it. I decided not to repair it since a refurb unit was only slightly more and was informed that it would cost me $100.00 to get it back ($60.00 diagnostic fee and $40.00 shipping). They can keep it and I will purchase a different product.
When the Dolphin was new, it worked great. However, it was heavy to lift it out of the pool (my wife could not lift it) and once out, part of the contents of the bag would end up back in the pool.
