Excellent old-style phone
by two-cents,Apr 05 '05
Pros: Great 1950s look, quality construction Cons: Heavy handset, ring volume hidden
My wife and I wanted an old-fashioned wall phone to replace a 20-year-old phone in our 1920s bungalow kitchen, and this Crosley model looked perfect. Ordered it from The Buzz Electronics and installed it fairly easily (note that you need to have a wall jack already in place). We love the way it looks, and it works beautifully. The handset is pretty heavy, though--we can't remember if that's the way they were in the '50s when we were growing up and using this style, but probably. Helps to read the brief manual, as the redial function is not marked as such. Be sure to set mode (pulse/tone) and ring volume before fixing phone in place, as these settings are hidden once mounted. We're very happy with this product.
