Pros: Price, size, image stabilization, looks, weight, large screen, fast operation, great photos Cons: No manual control over aperture or shutter speed
The 7
.1-Megapixel
Canon SD1000 was a great little camera, so when the new Canon SD1100 IS came out, I decided I wanted to get it. The new SD1100 is a 8-Megapixel camera that is similar in price to the last year’s ...
Pros: Very small, very light, very smart, easy, inexpensive, great features Cons: Only 3x optical zoom, possible screen fragility. That's about it.
Granted, my wife and I are not expert photographers. We're not tracking lions in the Serengeti, or trying to re-create the works of Ansel Adams in color. But we do love good pictures, and if a picture is worth 1000 words, it might as well be a decent ...
Pros: Excellent picture quality, image stabilization, color options, tons of features, good value Cons: Continuous shot mode could be faster (if I'm being picky)
Okay, I'll admit the title is a bit dramatic But it's accurate. I absolutely loved my last camera and couldn't imagine parting with. I finally decided to take the plunge and I couldnt be happier with my Canon Powershot Elph SD1100IS. ...
Pros: Intuitive. Pretty. Nice pictures. Easy to use without loading new software. Cons: If you are completely unfamiliar with photography terms, plan on experimenting some.
Its been years since I purchased a digital camera. The last one I had I have to be honest I couldnt figure it out and therefore, after a few times, I put it aside and its collected dust ever since. With the advances in ...
Pros: Image size, weight, ease of use Cons: Price, have to buy a separate SD card
I recently traded my Sony P200 for a Canon SD1100 and I havent looked back. The camera is so light that I have carried in my shirt pocket almost constantly in the month that I have had it. I find myself taking it out all the time to snap pictures of ...
Pros: Great images. Good color. Good lense. Best of all is it's convenient size. Cons: Weak flash. noise reduction > 200 ISO. small viewfinder
Let's put this in context. I own two Nikon DSLRs, a decent flash, and a bunch of good glass (that makes me sound like a cool photographer; it means lenses). So when I bought this little miracle a few weeks before my daugther (a bigger ...
Pros: Size, price, and lots of cool features such as the multi-shots, self timer, video, etc. Cons: Small and flimsy cover for the battery/card compartment.
I have had this camera for about two years and I am very happy with the Canon quality. Some of my favorites features are the "macro" for close ups, the video feature, "vivid colors" and the mode to take pictures at the highest and average quality. I ...
Review of Canon SD1100 camera by stevanhauser,Oct 20 '08
Pros: Seems pretty solid after all. Cons: Battery / mem card door a little flimsy.
I purchased this camera about 45 days ago because of all the excellent reviews I have read on it. I sold my Casio EX-Z850 to get this, and I think its a decent replacement... but I honestly liked the Casio better. The screen is nice on the Canon, but the Casio's was just a little larger and brighter. The pictures seem good but not better than the Casio... about the same. I liked the fact that the Casio had a separate button for still shots and movies... on the Canon you have to slide a switch to move between movie and still pic modes. Overall... a very nice camera. The door to the battery and memory card seems a bit more flimsy on the Canon than the Casio... and if you are going to open the door to take the mem card out all the time to move pics to your PC (like me) then you might be a little concerned about this.
