Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie''s plot.
Six great seasons of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte gave us the most real and unedited version of the modern dating world Ive ever seen. And, it was packed with the comedy and reality of trying to find yourself (and perhaps the perfect guy), while helping your friends to do the same. It explores the day-to-day, but more importantly, night-to-night singledom. Its so much more than just a New York show, but that is a good backdrop for a story thats gritty, real, smart and full of great moments.
This is truly one of the best gifts I got this year. As a girl in her early 30s, I can only hope to have some of the fun and excitement these women are having, a few years from now. In case youve been living under a rock, heres the story in a nutshell
Sex and the City is based on Candace Bushnell's books. Sarah Jessica Parker stars as Carrie Bradshaw, a writer of a column ironically called "Sex and the City." The story revolves around her and her friends in Manhattan. Theres nice girl/Miss Priss Charlotte (Kristin Davis), hard-edged lawyer Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and party girl/sexaholic Samantha (Kim Cattrall).
The series is packed with interesting dating issues, such as how to have sex like a man, being monogamous/getting a guy to commit, getting dumped via Post-It, metrosexuals and so much more! Carries main squeeze is the elusive Mr. Big, played by Chris Noth. Sure, she has her other interests, but her heart leads her back to Big time and again. Then, there are bigger life issues like dealing with cancer and infertility.
The show is part comedy, part drama, part how-to dress with style. Its definitely worth a look for any woman going through man trouble, or for any man looking to understand women better. And it makes an EXCELLENT gift. I loooooove it and cant wait for the movie!!!
