In my opinion, Brooks sure knew what he was doing when he decided to send up Star Wars merchandising - as Yogurt, the Yoda wannabe, he gives everyone a lesson in how to overdo movie marketing. (I mean, Spaceballs towels, Spaceballs this, Spaceballs that, Spaceballs the other thing - how much can you make with a given movie's image and likeness on it?)
However, it must also be said that by this time, it's obvious he's starting to lose his touch. Like History of the World Part 1, there are some slow and uneven parts of this movie. But then, that's the risk one takes with comedy. Not everyone will find everything you do funny, and that is certainly true of this film.
