unknown as of the time this film was made. However, she is your basic undiscovered gem, playing the role of a stereotypical movie greaser girl to perfection.
It's a shame the music couldn't have been better. The songs - especially those in the first half of the movie - sound as if they were Grease rejects (I understand that the original play, Grease, was very sexually-charged, portraying the 1950's as a much sexier decade than parents would have believed).
If you feel a yen to watch Michelle Pfeiffer and have already seen this movie all the way through once, then stick to the last half, with music written for the student variety show and Hawaiian luau. At least those songs aren't trying to live up to the horny reputation of the original Grease score.
