Kidnykid's Full Review: Flash Gordon
This movie is so campy and corny that it bears repeat watchings. It is a classic retelling of the classic radio serial. Topol plays a scientist trying to warn the world of the danger it's about to encounter, Sam J. Jones plays Flash and Melody Anderson (of Manimal TV-show fame) plays his girlfriend. Max von Sydow plays the bad guy out to destroy Earth as we know it, and it is Flash Gordon's job to stop him in his tracks.

Folks, this isn't rocket science; it's pure entertainment, sheer fun. Don't go into it expecting anything more than a couple of hours of mindless entertainment.

The soundtrack, performed by the rock band Queen, lends further credibility to the cheesy-entertainment factor in this movie. If you have to get away and need to forget your problems for a couple hours, rent or buy this movie.
