There is nothing like being bathed in the light of the tender vocal embrace of Sarah Vaughn. She always seems to give a heart warming performance with much energy provided. She was a multitalented power house. Her phrasing involves loads of freedom like an eruption from a chocolate volcano for the chocolate extremo. I am marveled by her musical imprints. To me, she is one of the finest jazz vocalists to ever grace a microphone. Listening to her is like listening to a master.
Sarah Vaughn is an illustrator of lyrical content. She has an impeccable phrasing technique when she vocally elaborates stories of love. Her voice is smoky and sweet. She has an impeccable sense of time. She can scat at break neck speeds while also animating the most colorful ballad with enough emotional fervor to touch the heart. She has a really wide vocal range and can even sing like an opera singer. That is why I really appreciate her voice. It’s soft, bouncy and loveable. When her heart begins to sing, it is a glow of flames that keeps glowing a lustrous reflection. Her voice is definitely an instrument with a creatively warm invitation.
The Best Is Yet to Come by Sarah Vaughan is just one of the many intriguing works with a pool of songs accentuated by the anointed vocals of Sarah Vaughn. She proves to be a swinging engine that gives a captivating delivery. Listening to this album was a cohesive and deep musical experience. The wooden framework of the songs are really romantic.
The accompaniment was tight knit. For every trumpet blare, melodic sax presentation, grooving bass walk, guitar frenzy, lush string glitter or rhythmic tap-tap-tap of the keyboards, it had lots of movement, emotional fluency, sweet content and a spectacular vocal approach that were as soft as April’s pillowy skies. Especially in the song Baubles, Bangles, And Beads which had enough glitter and gleam to create a glimmering quay to tip the bucket; this song was the one I kept repeating because I really liked the way it flowed. And it was simple, straightforward and clear.
I like The Best Is Yet to Come by Sarah Vaughan. It took no effort for me to enjoy this listen. Love’s melodies came with mood swings that really brightened my day. I loved what I heard and enjoyed the heart fluttering attack. That is why Sarah Vaughan created such a rich musical legacy. She had that style and grace to push jazz singing to new heights and I loved it. I recommend The Best Is Yet to Come by Sarah Vaughan to all music lovers. Listening is like a deep tissue massage for the ears.
