Pros: Proximity to food, quiet, room size
Cons: Kind of blah, tiny fitness center, bed comfort
The Bottom Line: If you are looking to stay on the north side of Orlando, not a bad choice. Right off I-4, near a lot of dining/shopping.

| krunett's Full Review: Springhill Suites Altamonte Springs |
Just came back from a one night stay at this property and wanted to get my thoughts down while they were fresh.
Location The hotel is located right off I-4, right off 436. The good part about the location is that it doesn't face the highway, so you really don't get too much external noise. It is located right next to the Hampton Inn. There are a zillion restaurants and shops in this area, including one of my favorite spots Uptown at Altamonte, a newer shopping area right on a manmade lake that is perfect for a night time stroll. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this location if you are looking to go to the Disney attractions as it is a bit of a hike from that area.
Check-in Don't know what happened here, but they totally didn't meet my profile requests. And when I went back downstairs to change them, the 2nd room they put me in wasn't much better. The staff was nice, but really didn't seem too engaged.
Room First, the top floor had a really weird smell, almost fishy in nature. I smelled it in the room too. Just glad I bring spray with me. Not sure if they had recently cleaned something (maybe with all new fish smelling Windex!)? The rooms are typical Springhill fashion, your large one-room suite with a microwave, fridge and sink. They feature a nice workstation with wired internet as well as a sofa, coffee tables and end table.
The bed had plenty of poly pillows, sheets were clean enough, but the bed was just too soft for my taste. The HVAC unit was okay, but I couldn't get the setting right and ended up having to adjust it in the middle of the night.
The bathroom was fine, had a double-headed showerhead, however the pressure wasn't great. Was clean enough and the vanity more than stored all my junk. They give you small tolietries, maybe enough for one night.
I didn't really hear much noise from other rooms, however you definitely can hear the TV's as you walk through the hallway.
Amenities There is a very small fitness center with a treadmill, bike, stair-stepper and small weight machine. I believe I also saw an indoor pool and a business center. The lobby was quite large with ample tables for breakfast or just meeting up with family/collegues. I thought their breakfast selection was just okay, as a role reversal they had over-ripe bananas (as opposed to the traditional hotel super-greens), some cereal, fruit, and maybe 1-2 hot items.
Overall, a decent hotel, would consider staying again, just realize it's pretty average, which isn't always a bad thing.
