Pros: Small, reliable, fully-featured, quality look, good performance. Good low light performance using video gain. Cons: Manual lens cap, slow video transition effects. Low light requires switching to manual mode.
I was looking for a reliable compact digital camcorder that had received good reviews. I needed external microphone and headset jacks for narration. I wanted AV-in jacks so I could convert video from my analog camcorder to digital video. I also wanted ...
Pros: Great video, Manual controls, My Modifications. Cons: Floppy grip belt, Short battery life, Not enough gain for me, wind noise
UPDATE August 08Still using the camcorder several times a week. I have shot a lot of video for walkme2.com. The white balance problem happens most often with flourescent lighting. The dirty head message becomes worse with higher humidity. We are in ...
Pros: Impressive video quality, great handling and controls, optical stabilization, good optical zoom. Good battery life. Cons: Still images are average quality, flash is weak and ill positioned.
It was that time again. Time to start the search for a replacement for my camcorder - a Sony which has seen very heavy use and was beginning to show the signs of wear and tear. The Sony has been good. Hard to replace in many ways. When it was bought, ...
Pros: Compact, tough, quick and easy to use in auto Cons: Noisy low light image, no firewire cable, lame software bundle, questionable manual controls
I've been using this camera for about a year with pretty good results. I bought it to shoot video of our baby, so I was not looking for professional quality imagery from the outset. I like that the camera is small, easy to carry and quick to fire-up. ...
Pros: image quality; built quality Cons: battery; lack of headphones
I am cameroonian residing in South Africa with hobbies in photo and video. The built quality of this camera is very good, inspires confidence. it is on the larger side but has a pleasant feel on holding and surprisingly light. i nevertheless feel the ...
Pros: Excellent picture quality when used in conjunction with good lighting. Cons: A couple of minor ones, but not even worth mentioning.
This is an excellent quality camcorder. Often there's more to consider when reading reviews on camcorders, such as the lighting in the room. Perhaps it'd be given a bad overall review if most using this product fired it up without considering lighting. ...
Pros: Exceptional video quality;
Easy setup;
Very good manual Cons: Poor still image quality;
Body design could be better
Before getting this camcorder, I talked to my friend who owns a 3-CCD "prosumer" Panasonic PV-GS400 and to a couple of salesmen who seemed professional and honest to me. I also read hundreds of reviews in the Internet and compared video quality of ...
Pros: Video Quality. VHS to Digital Pass Through. Hot Shoe. Price. Cons: None really. Battery Life...maybe?
This is a lovely little camcorder that I like to call a movie camera. I shot my first indie music video for a group using the Panasonic GS50. The image quality is 'there'. If you're planning to do any type of project (documentary, video diary, music ...
Panasonic NV-GS500 Mini DV Digital Camcorder by alfons,Dec 04 '07
Pros: good stabaliser, good sound and zoom microphone. Cons: Manual focus switch wrong place. back light compensation faster accessable ,
The body shape is of fairly good design.However I would prefer some rubberised wear protection as anodised silver does scratch very easy. I bought some foam pads witch are used on the bottom of chair legs, and stuck them on verious places such as outside of screen, on top and side. Now I can put my camera down without fear of scratching.Very good picture quality once you get to know the camera.
The camera control system is excellent once you practiced and you know where to find every setting and very good for frequent users.Some options should however be faster accessable , like back light compensation. I would like to see a separate adjustment where one can adjust the backlight within a surten range and blend in slower.
To take single pictures in darker places needs some experimenting as the flashlight is not the best. But if you make some shots you will quickly find out the limitations and set the flash and camera accordingly.
This camera is one of the best I have used. If you take your filming serious and do it frequently you cannot go wrong with this camera.
Pros: 4 megapixel still photos, 3ccd, small and compact, great zoom Cons: nothing!!
I purchased this camcorder/camera about 2 weeks ago from circuit city for $850.00. This is amazing. It is small, has 3ccds and 4 megapixels for still photo. The still photos are as good if not better than my regualar 5 megapixel camera. The video is unbelieveable. You feel like you are there. Buy this and you won't be disappointed
Panasonic PV-GS50 Mini DV Digital Camcorder by mrcomplain,May 27 '04
Pros: Very light weight and easy to use with many special features. Cons: The battery pack that comes with the product (CGA-DU07) does not provide adequate recording time.
The ultimate camcorder. This camcorder has features that the average person may never use. Among the many features, you can make tape recordings and make still pictures from the recordings. The size of this camcorder is perfect. It fits in the palm of your hand. On one occasion I made a recording in an environment that was almost totally dark.
Pros: Size, digital, steady shot, video quality. Cons: Battery life, still picture quality.
This is a great camcorder. We bought it when we found out we were expecting our first child. We like the fact that it's small, light and digital so we can easily transfer the video to our computer and put it on a DVD to send to our family. The steady shot on this camcorder works really well and it takes really good quality video. The only thing we don't like is the still pictures it takes are not very good quality. We have an excellent digital camera so that wasn't a factor in our buying the camcorder so we don't really complain about it, we just think it could be better. The battery life is OK but could be better. There are longer life batteries you can buy but they add bulk to the camcorder.
