First I would like to state that I was an avid customer of computer geeks, I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars, and when i ran a computer store in town, it would be more like Hundreds of thousands, and only had problems every once in awhile, but after not ...
I ordered some DVD-Rs from Computer Geeks for a very good price. I thought I was getting a deal since I purchased the two 50-piece spindles from their website for under 30 dollars (including shipping and handling). However, I did not get a deal. Every ...
I've shopped at Computer Geeks for several years without any issues with customer service, delivery or products, including refurbs. It has become my first stop when shopping for PC peripherals, hardware and accessories... plus some of the coolest über-geek gadgets around.
I highly recommend signing up for their product notification email list. They often offer HUGE "email only" discounts on low-inventory/going-out-of-stock items... such as the $200+ professional-use HP scanner I recently purchased for $27, including full factory warranty.
Delivery has always been prompt, the only complaint I have is the set minimum charge of $15 for Shipping & Handling. If purchasing several items it is not much of an issue, but, if you're only purchasing one item, that $15.00 S&H charge can easily make it not such a "great deal".
Cheap stuff, but shipping from USA was a drag. by ittarter,Mar 09 '05
Delivery from California -- about 10 days to get a laptop to me (in Manitoba). Order was exactly as expected. Customer service is sometimes frustrating (automatic responses instead of personalized) but it didn't take long to get a real response.
I had to return my product (a PIII refurbished notebook) since it stopped working -- but I got it in before the warranty was up (3 mos.) and was promptly refunded with my money. Even though I wasn't satisfied with the laptop, I was satisfied with ComputerGeeks.
Very good prices but limited selection, prompt, no problems. by nerath,Apr 30 '05
I have ordered several things through computer geeks, including a refurb eMachines system. Delivery has always been prompt and prices excellent. Selection of items is not large and varies.

service three times, but they made no attempt to resolve
the issue.
Do not buy refurb from Geeks. com by mrsniano,Sep 14 '07
I purchased a refurb Xbox for my son. First one sent back (red circle of light). Second one same problem.
Tried to email them. The first time, I got a computer-generated email a week later, saying they will get back to me. (They never did.) The second time there was no response at all.
Had to use their toll number to call them, as they do not have a toll-free number. The clerk told me I could get a refund but I will have to pay to send it back because it was outside of the 30 day warrantee period.
Well, my first email to them was only two days outside of that period! Then, the clerk told me that I would have an email from them noting my RMA number within 5-10 minutes. That e-mail never came.
I called back to speak to a supervisor, but one wasn't available. They took my information. I asked the supervisor's name..."Eric". Well Eric never called me back. I phoned again today, and asked for him, but he was "On a break". They promised he would call back. The business day is over. I am still waiting..........
Great prices, shipping via pack mule by orangewhip,Sep 02 '06
I found an online code for discounted shipping. My order was shipped using SmartPost. Geeks.com did not ship the order on the day guaranteed by their policies. It shipped a day late. SmartPost is listed on their site as 5 to 7 days. It took 12 days to received my order.
This is the second time they have disappointed me. The first time, they shorted me a CD. I will not be ordering from them a third time.
Formerly good, now a bad taste in my mouth by emalmstrom,May 03 '07
After 5 years of doing business with them, a defective laptop was sold. 14 days out of warranty, it dies. Hard disk controller or system board is faulty.
DO NOT USE!!! NO Quality Control! by kniftontf,Dec 19 '06
DO NOT USE THIS STORE!!! I ordered 3 things from Geeks.com, 1 SATA HDD, 1 SATA HDD Extrenal Enclosure, and 1 IDE to USB Cable. They sent me an IDE Enclosure, a HDD, and the IDE Cable. Called Inventory Control who are much less than friendly, and asked to send out the right enclosure. They sent me another IDE to USB cable, something I already had. Called Inventory Control again asked for them to send me the right enclosure. They dispatched another IDE enclosure. Opened the HDD to find out it was an Ultra ATA drive. Called Inventory Control who told me they sent me the right part, but they use "ULTRA SATA" and sent me to Tech Support to figure out what my problem was. Tech Support is good, dispatching another SATA drive. Need to call back again about wrong enclosure. 3 weeks later, 2 hours of tech support and inventory control, but still don't have my External HDD.
They sold the laptop I purchased to someone else in less than 24 hours. by manda23,May 01 '05
This company has given me nothing but trouble. I tried to purchase a laptop that only had 4 remaining. I won the item, but there was a problem with my shipping address. I had emailed their customer service after I had everything changed at my bank, and an hour later, I had an email saying that my laptop would be shipped out that day.
The next day, however, they had told me that my laptop had been over sold, and my order was cancelled. In the first email I received, they informed me that I had 7 days to correct my mistakes, but in less than 24 hours, they sold the laptop to someone else.
Not only that, but I don't believe that the same person emailed me twice. Everytime it was someone different from a different address. After this experience, I am NOT buying from geeks.com. I've found an almost identical laptop on TigerDirect.com for only $30 more, and I would much rather pay a little more than deal with terrible service.
If they have what you need, don't hesitate, these guys are great! by jeffrey93001,Jan 17 '06
I have bought items from Geeks.com twice now, and they are two for two with me. I ordered on a Sunday each time, and the orders each shipped out the following Monday, with delivery on Tuesday. The prices were well below my local Fry's Electronics, and Geeks.com shipping options saved me money over some other online stores. Newegg's cheapest shipping option was 3 Day Select for $16.99, with no option for regular ground service. I live in the Zone One area for UPS from Whittier, so regular ground would get here in one day, but they did not give me that option. Geeks.com is in San Diego (even further from me) and it still gets here one day later with regular ground service (for $6 Vs $16.99.) I also use UPS at my business, so I know how much it cost to ship, and it seems as though Geeks.com's handling charge is minimal, and both items have been well packaged, with the actual purchase in a large box surrounded with bubble wrap.
save yourself a headache. buy from somewhere else! by eoniskin,Apr 03 '06
This company wasted 3 weeks of my time. Geeks.com sent me wrong products, shipped items as slow as possible, and in the end never even had the item that they sold to me in the first place.
when i called customer service to complain about the service i received the representative actually said, and i quote, "we don't take feedback from customers." if you call 1-760-726-7700 right now, and tell them you have a complaint, the most they will do is attach that information to your order. A company that doesn't respond to feedback from the customer does not deserve to be in business. mistakes i can forgive, but lack of organization and NO system for feedback is inexcusable.
In closing, geeks.com is only good if you like the On-Hold jazz from geeks.com's long distance number.
2) A digital camera, memory card, and battery charger for my mom.
I specified my "Billing Address" as the address my credit card statement goes to, and I specified the "Shipping Address" as the respective addresses of my parents on those orders.
I received an email back telling me to call my credit card company and change my address to my shipping address if I wanted to ship there. I emailed them, and they wouldn't budge (when they responded to me three days later - rather poor response time), so I cancelled my orders.
I haven't dealt with an online retailer since CDnow.com in 1996 that gave me trouble by specifying a shipping address different than the credit card address. Everyone from Amazon.com to Overstock.com to CompUsa.com has let me ship whatever I want to wherever I want, as long as I am able to supply the valid Billing Address and CVV2 code of the card.
Ordered an ipod fm transmitter /charger. The price was right. They shipped me the wrong item. Inventory control, customer service won't return my calls or respond to my e-mail. Don't buy from these folks.
Excellent as always. Every time I order from Geeks.com the parts are good, they are packed well, I get email conformation on shipping and I get delivery either on time or ahead of what I am told and they will continue to get my business. Read more

I have had good success with new products from this firm, but lousy experience with products they label as 'refurbished'. They apparently don't know the difference between 'used' and 'refurbished'. The 'refurbished' IMAC I just bought, came full of dust, both on the CD tray, and inside the machine itself. It is clear it was never sent back to the manufacturer or a service shop to be refurbished. It was just a used unit. I have had to send several things back before because they were labeled 'refurbished', and at best were returns that were obviously DOA, one even having a sticker from the manufacturer to that effect still on the box. I'm not going to buy anything labeled refurbished from this site any more. Read more

Received an incorrect product. Customer service was slow to respond. I finally requested return authorization and was informed that there will be a 15% return fee. If that fee is deducted, I will no longer be a customer or refer others to Computer Geeks. Read more

The price was great, cheapest on line. However, I didn't recieve the product in good condition, when it showed it was to be new. The box was damaged, and the product was scuffed up. Also, the basket to the shredder was damaged and would not line up with the shredder. My husband had to hot glue the bottom seem closed and make a few adjustments to get it to line up and close properly. Also, we noticed the inside of the basket had a powdery substance inside, so I may have been used. So I was not very happy with that, but it works. Read more

This item arrived in a non-working condition. I contacted Geeks.com via email and they sent me an RMA # pretty quickly but I had to pay for shipping. So I sent them a reply to contest having to pay the shipping for an item that I received defective out of the box. This was 6 days ago and I'm still waiting on a response. I sent another email yesterday. Read more
