Just placed an order with amazon.com for 2 items totaling $89.94 and was charged $18.23 for STANDARD shipping. They used to give Free Shipping if the order was over a certain amount - automatically. Now you have to go out of your way to select "Super Saver Shipping" or some such thing. On top of that I was presented with a "summary" of my order which DID NOT show the shipping charges. They showed up on the confirmation e-mails indicating my order had shipped. I will not buy from them again. Buyer Beware.

Found an item at Shopping.com that listed Amazon as a possible source. The cost listed was $10. Good deal - I want one. When I clicked on the link to buy and was transferred to Amazon, the price magically changed to $90!! Still waiting for a response why the item in question is priced so differently on the 2 sites.

ON MARCH 8 I ORDERED A KEYSPAN USA 19 HS ADAPTER WITH FREE SHIPPING AND I WAS GIVEN A RECEIVE DATE OF MARCH 21 SO TODAY I CALLED AND I WAS TOLD MY CREDIT CARD INFO COULD NOT BE VALIDATED I HAD MOVED 2 MOS AGO AND I HAD NOT CHANGED MY BILLING ADDRESS,I AM ANGRY THAT AMAZON NEVER CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW OF THE PROBLEM,I WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN IF I DID NOT CALL,ALSO GETTING A CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ANOTHER ADVENTURE

Item was advertises at a sale price and ordered, but tracking showed it in UTAH for an entire week, I did not receive the item, but back at Amazon the item price increased by 33%. They told me the item was probable lost in transit.
Two weeks earlier an item was ordered as a Christmas gift for a child, the order was held up for a week (mid-December) before I was told it would not ship until February.
I will never buy from Amazon again. Buy.com seem to deliver what you order, at the price you see online, within the time frame promised.

I ordered a new Canon Digital Rebel XT camera listed on Amazon.com. Within the hour I got an email from Amazon saying the item was not available. It is dissapointing that they would have an item listed and not have it available. I was dissatisfied with my shopping experience and will not shop there any more since they can not provide reputable listings of products from 3rd party merchants. BOO Amazon!

Caveat emptor!!

A WORD OF WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE IF YOU ARE A FREQUENT PURCHASER.

I am a longstanding frequent customer of Amazon purchasing new and secondhand books from its inception in the UK and during the last 5 years I have placed roughly 900 orders for books and other items. Many of the books were through Amazon Marketplace i.e. out of print items. I placed these orders on the basis that Amazon act as guarantor and will refund my money if the goods do not arrive and,overall,have made a total of FIVE claims for books which have never arrived. I would emphasise I have only made a claim after querying the non-delivery with the seller and receiving no response. I am now advised by Amazon I can make no further claims in my lifetime.

I accept that amazon must protect itself against fraud by buyers but a limit of five claims in a lifetime for frequent purchasers is simply not reasonable. If Amazon allows sellers to offer books via their site then equally they should guarantee refunds for non-delivery on a more proportionate basis.

Caution with UnbeatableSale

In general, I've found Amazon to be just fine. However, I recently ordered from one of their partners UnbeatableSale and not had very good service.

The details are like many other stories: slow delivery, broken product, slow or no response to email, and no resolution. It often takes days to get a response via email ... often I get no response at all.

I'd also like to point out that this was sent as a gift and UnbeatableSale is requesting that recipient pay for return shipping. Their RMA does not cover shipping costs.

All in all ... something doesn't feel right about them. They have a good track record with other buyers ... but that's when things are working. Take care in doing business with them when things are not.

shopping.com listed amazon marketplace with the best price for a Fellows P70CM shredder at 34.99 with free shipping. i went to the site and went thru the ordering process up to the point where they wanted to add 10.99 for shipping and handling. they said i didn't qualify for free shipping because it was being shipped by a 3rd-party vendor. what a ripoff.

Be careful of "Free Shipping" sellers

Went to the Marketplace because of price - they advertised no tax and free shipping. After I had placed my order, but before hitting 'confirm' I noticed that they had slapped on a $20 fee for shipping which almost doubled the price. Needless to say, I didn't confirm and/or order. I doubt I'll waste any more time looking around here if that's a common practice.

BAD, VERY BAD - FRAUDULENT MEASURES BEYOND COMPARE!
There is no protection against fraudulent sellers sending messages that look as if they were coming from Amazon - payments are not accepted through amazon, but by Western Union!

...RUN! Amazon is such a rip off! First, I tried the site as a buyer and the high end item I ordered was never delivered nor did I get delivery confirmation. It took one day for my payment to Amazon to be processed and two weeks passed before I received my refund! During this two week wait, I decided to sell a few DVDs that I no longer wanted. Sure, it's free to place your merchandise on the site for sale, but after their commission was taken from my sale, it was hardly worth the effort!! What a horrible way to do business!! I'm sticking with Ebay:)

Ripped Off, Never Use the Marketplace

I ordered a Seattle Seahawks rug for my son is Sept. Finally showed up in October, opened it, it sez New York Jets. The order went thru Coast to Coast Hardware-Home and Beyond. There was no contact or return information in the package, only the wrong rug. I emailed both Coast to Coast and Amazon 8 times, with no response. Hunted thru the website to find a phone number, waited on hold forever, the guy sez why did I wait so long to make contact!!! Didnt you listen to what I have been saying!! Ok he will send a return slip and info. It never arrived. He lied to me. Amazon has done nothing to help. Never use the Marketplace Online Store. I paid outrageous shipping, because it never showed when I placed the order, only when I was charged. So 6 months later I still have an expensive wrong item.

Rebate Ripoff

I'll never buy from them again !! After researching available cellphone plans and the phones that I wanted, i decided to purchase from Amazon.com. Their deal was if I purchased two phones and a two year plan, I would receive a $150.00 mail-in rebate. I complied with every condition of their rebate requirements. After waiting 8 weeks and not receiving my rebate, I contacted them and was told that the rebates were taking longer than usual and not to worry and that I would receive the $150.00. After another 6 weeks, I called again and was told that I didn't meet the requirements. I asked what requirement didn't I meet. They said they didn't have that information available and that was all they could do. I often wonder how much money annually they cheat customers out of. 150.00 to one customer times the number of customers they have should make for a dandy profit. If I had the time, I would take this to the Attorney Generals fraud division.

Shipment Estimate Lies

I ordered just 2 audio cds from Amazon, which were in stock. They gave me a shipment estimate of 1 1/2 months. And arrival for 3 month (4 and a half for 2 cds!). The last day of shipment estimate, i wrote an e-mail. They told me that the products were not in stock, however on site there were more than 15 available. They lost 60$.

I have ordered a lot from amazon.com, and have recently been ordering from Amazon Marketplace sellers. My advice – DON’T! At least not from the 3rd party sellers. I have never had a problem ordering from amazon.com directly, but I recently received a defective product from a 3rd party seller and was told I had to pay for shipping to return it before I could get a replacement. I complained to amazon and they basically said too bad – "At this time, sellers do not have the ability to refund an Amazon Marketplace order for more than the original order total (cost of the item + the original shipping fee." If you don’t like to have to pay for defective merchandise, DO NOT order from an Amazon Marketplace seller.
