ON MARCH 8 I ORDERED A KEYSPAN USA 19 HS ADAPTER WITH FREE SHIPPING AND I WAS GIVEN A RECEIVE DATE OF MARCH 21 SO TODAY I CALLED AND I WAS TOLD MY CREDIT CARD INFO COULD NOT BE VALIDATED I HAD MOVED 2 MOS AGO AND I HAD NOT CHANGED MY BILLING ADDRESS,I AM ANGRY THAT AMAZON NEVER CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW OF THE PROBLEM,I WOULD NEVER HAVE KNOWN IF I DID NOT CALL,ALSO GETTING A CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ANOTHER ADVENTURE

I love Amazon.com. Almost everything I buy online, either comes from Amazon or a clothes company... When you order something from Amazon, you know that you are not going to get cheated! One problem, is that they do not show their customer service number on the site. To save everyone time, the phone number's are:

I have purchased hundreds of items from Amazon almost from the first day they opened on-line (back when they did books only). This year (2005) I did 95% of my Christmas shopping there over the course of several weeks. Everything I ordered was in stock, everything I ordered was delivered on time. This included books, perfumes, video games, tools, clothes and more. Never, ever had even one problem with anything I've ordered. I will continue to keep Amazon.com as my number one on-line shopping site!

shopping.com listed amazon marketplace with the best price for a Fellows P70CM shredder at 34.99 with free shipping. i went to the site and went thru the ordering process up to the point where they wanted to add 10.99 for shipping and handling. they said i didn't qualify for free shipping because it was being shipped by a 3rd-party vendor. what a ripoff.

I have had placed an order for Chamberlain garage door opener back in October 2005. Amazon was supposed to deliver by early November. Since, I only have received notes for delay, and yet again they delayed the delivery even further to back of January. There is no evidence that Amazon would ever have the item at hand, although it has been listed as in stock and delivery is estimated within two weeks. Simply, if they don't have it why they list? My suspicion is that since this item was originally ordered at a lower price, Amazon is intentionally delaying the delivery for those customers who had placed the order at a lower price to discourage them and have them cancel their order. Malicious tactic.

I have purchased many books, as well as household items with no problems in quality or speed of delivery. I was most impressed with Amazon when the Surround Sound Head Phones set I purchased proved to be less than durable. The sound was terrific but the design was such that they were easily breakable in the recharging base. Amazon immediately sent me the replacement I asked for, at no charge. Then when it also broke, they took the set back (they paid shipping) and promptly refunded my money.
I recently attempted a purchase of a vacuum cleaner through one of the private Amazon vendors who claimed one in stock, and supposedly shipped prior to Christmas. However, subsequently received an e-mail that through no fault of their own ??? they had to back order. However, they were very apologetic and offered an immediate refund if I did not want to wait for a later shipment.

I found a portable DVD player at much better price than anywhere else. The item description described perfectly what I was looking for. I received the product within five days of ordering. The product was brand new and packaged just as described. I would definitely order from this website again.

YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Back in October of 2005, I wanted to find a discontinued item (Fire+Ice Grill) and by miracle, I found in on Amazon. Regular price for this item was about $250... Amazon advertised it at $99! Wow! I purchased it, thinking this would be a great Christmas gift for my Father-In-Law. Here's where things start to SUCK!!!! I opted for the free delivery which I was told would be delivered on Dec 5, 2005. Well, on Dec 2nd, I got an email from Amazon stating that my order was cancelled because they could not get the item. WHY SELL IT TO ME IF YOU CAN'T GET IT?!!!!!!!!! That was the first and last time I will shop on Amazon.com.

I ordered a Mcfarlane Sports Figure 2005(draft choice), and was shipped Randy Moss 2nd edition,....not what I ordered. Appears what was advertised one day, was advertised completely different the next day. They also advertised figures I ordered, to be shipped by the end of October 2005, then changed to January 2006......these same figures were selling in the stores in mid-Cotober.

The negative reviews are detailed and sincere, while most of the positive reviews are downright generic and hollow, with subject lines like "simply the best place to shop ever!" - might as well have been written by Amazon marketing reps. And maybe they were. I haven't shopped on Amazon Marketplace and I never will, it stinks.

Found an item at Shopping.com that listed Amazon as a possible source. The cost listed was $10. Good deal - I want one. When I clicked on the link to buy and was transferred to Amazon, the price magically changed to $90!! Still waiting for a response why the item in question is priced so differently on the 2 sites.

I ordered a new Canon Digital Rebel XT camera listed on Amazon.com. Within the hour I got an email from Amazon saying the item was not available. It is dissapointing that they would have an item listed and not have it available. I was dissatisfied with my shopping experience and will not shop there any more since they can not provide reputable listings of products from 3rd party merchants. BOO Amazon!

Caution with UnbeatableSale

In general, I've found Amazon to be just fine. However, I recently ordered from one of their partners UnbeatableSale and not had very good service.
The details are like many other stories: slow delivery, broken product, slow or no response to email, and no resolution. It often takes days to get a response via email ... often I get no response at all.
I'd also like to point out that this was sent as a gift and UnbeatableSale is requesting that recipient pay for return shipping. Their RMA does not cover shipping costs.
All in all ... something doesn't feel right about them. They have a good track record with other buyers ... but that's when things are working. Take care in doing business with them when things are not.

Poor customer concern

I had started a small business selling on-line. I found that Amazon worked best for me and had sold over 100 items. After purchasing a lot of merchandise a few weeks ago I went to Amazon to list these items at retail. I was informed that I could no longer sell because I was not a "pre-approved seller", and that I could not apply to be seller. I have a BS in Economics, and live in a country that supports free trade. I could offer a better price on the these items, yet THE CUSTOMER IS NOT ALLOWED TO SEE THE BEST PRICE!!! Why?? The big sellers are protecting their profits through Amazon with no concern for the customer. What kind of business is this?? If you can sell at a better price then me, great for the customer! If I have a better price, great for the customer!! Making the customer pay more then they need for an item, the customer gets screwed. Their name should be changed from Amazon.com to Paymore.com!
