Pros: Great for anyone who finds they spend more than they should on dry cleaning. Cons: Doesn't work well on all materials.
After realizing I was throwing good money after bad on dry cleaning, we decided to do something about it and purchased the Corby trouser press. I hate ironing. And I'm not very good at it. I had a tendency to somehow make wool trousers look shiny. ...

Under pressure
by youthfulone,Apr 24 '08
Pros: Fast, effective and easy to use. Cons: Be sure you have the creases in place before you close it up.
This is guaranteed to allow you that extra half an hour in bed each day. A very important thing as they say on the five fab mums site. The trouser press does a perfect job, giving you time to wake up.

7700 Model is the best - long time user of the Corby
by margita1,Jul 28 '08
Pros: Has the most flexibility with timer. Cons: Wish it had a shelf or tray for keys, wallet, cell phone
Wrote a quick review about the 3300 model used for 20 years. After years of loyal service it final gave out. When purchasing a new unit I went for the 7700. The Corby 7700 is the top line model with timer for 15 - 30 - 45 minute cycles. Picked it up on PantPress.com for $299

Much less ironing, much less dry cleaning
by bim909,Aug 26 '07
Pros: Works well with most fabrics. Safe - exterior does not get hot. Cons: None, provided you are realistic about its limitations.
I know this gadget very well - lots of hotels in England have one in every room. I finally broke down and bought one, thinking that it might save me effort on ironing and money on dry cleaning. I won the bet - it's true! There are various versions of the Corby trouser press in various finishes (the differences are price, the design of the timer control and the color/veneer of the press). I actually have the 3300 in black ash, and I removed the included feet and jacket hanger so that I could mount it on the wall, where it is less in the way. The instructions warn you never to dampen trousers before you put them in the press, and that some fabrics will need some ironing anyway. I have followed the instructions strictly and found that 90% of the time my trousers come out with creases where they should be. The other 10% of the time, there are creases where they shouldn't be, but they can be ironed out with much less effort than it takes to iron the garment from scratch.
