I'm still learning how epinions works. How often does the Kids and Family area have new products from manufacturers added to the database? Do companies send in what they want reviewed?

Any information would be appreciated.

There's no set schedule on when new items get loaded to K&F and across the site. Epinions/Shopping.com/Ebay have relationships with online merchants and so its up to them when new items get linked up. I wish I could give you a better answer! I'm the CL and don't even know when new items are loaded unless they are an item that I personally load up!

CLs can add products any time (as long as the brand is listed) that can be done pretty quickly :)

I was just wondering because sometimes I wonder how they pick the toys. For instance, there are so few Disney Pixar car merchandise listed. Or they'll have eighty different toys from a manufacturer, but not the eighty first toy, which is what I'll have.

I was trying to figure out the rhyme and reason.

According to the Epinions front page, the SAP tool is currently down in some categories. Good luck!

Most of the Disney CARS stuff has been SAP'd by people.

In K&F the only subcategory where SAP is down (and have been down for a while now) is Travel Precautions.

was just asked in the General Epinions forum. It was that same New Products list that prompted me to ask this question.

They either need to delete that New Products List or actually load fresh content to it... K&F hasn't refreshed in years on that list and new products are most definitely being added by manual SAP and the magical process.

Some time in the next few weeks there will be a GIANT feed/integration taking place in K&F in particular in the TOYS section... meaning lots more new products.

Yes. It is part of the Soft Productization.

It will take place in toys and baby care (which I'm not quite sure all the categories that fall under that).

I'm hopeful that by the time it rolls out into K&F and other sections the confusion/glitches that are in Pets/Wine will be worked out.

We now have TONS.... thousands.. 10s of thousands of new listings.

SAP (suggest a product) is temporarily down due to the database upgrades. But, I'm quite certain that with all the new listings there should be plenty for you all to write about!
