Where's the most beautiful place you've ever traveled?
I have to cast my vote for the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Scary drive, but AMAZING views.
Here's a couple pics:

Tough question. There's so MANY beautiful places...
I'd probably have to say Iguazu falls, on the border between Brazil and Argentina. An awe-inspiring place.

Hmm! Lovely photos!
There are so many beautiful places in this world. I think the most beautiful places I've been to are: Cook's Bay in Moorea, French Polynesia, followed by La Digue, Seychelles, and Milford Sound, New Zealand!
Cheers,
Regina

RE: Where's the most beautiful place you've ever traveled?
I was just thinking about this this morning since one of the morning shows (which ever one Matt Lauer is on) had a story on this (Grand Canyon was the winner).
For me, it would be between Crater Lake and Napili Coast of Kauai.

RE: Where's the most beautiful place you've ever traveled?
I have to say, the Dordogne and Lot region of South west France, where small villages seemed to be overgrown and looked like they were as prehistoric as the caves nearby..
In this Country: Oregon, the Coast road and the San Juan Islands of Washington state..

Oh, yes, the Napali Coast is up there for me, too!

Seeing it on horseback is even cooler. Call ahead, and your horse(es) will be saddled up and awaiting your arrival. Have a good time! |

It has to be Sevastopol!
Well for me the most beautiful place i've been too has to be Sevastopol on the black sea (Crimea region of Ukraine). Absolutley stunning, Yalta near Sevastopol is also an amazingly beautiful little town, both are well worth any visit! |

years ago, when I could still ride horses, we rode in Colorado around Aspen while visiting friends and in Breckenridge when we had a small restaurant and lived there for a short while, the rides I took were all breathtaking...I had a funny thing happen with my horse once when he decided to take off in another direction from the rest of the group...remember, I'm really a city girl and I held on for dear life as he just rode off along a very narrow trail...within a short while a dog came to get us from the ranch and the horse just followed him home...needless to say my husband and daughters were a bit worried but I was cool...:)

Yes, I might have to add it to the top of my list. We saw it last weekend. We drove through the park on Saturday (and both my kids were sick with nasty colds, but still wanted to go) and it snowed on the return. We had spectacular views in the am. Of course, viewing the elk was great and perhaps even better in the snow the next day. It's less than an hour away from us so I imagine we'll be making many more trips. |

My most beautiful place - PL
I'm so fickle - the most beautiful place is usually wherever I am.
But if I had to list them, I'd say, in no special order:
- The Big Sur coast, along Hwy. 1, looking south from the Bixby Bridge. Or from the top deck of Nepenthe at sunset, when the fog rolls in below you and you can still see the coast in both directions. Actually anywhere in Big Sur...;
- The views looking back at Riomaggiore from the path to Manarola, the southernmost town in Cinque Terra, on the Ligurian Coast of Italy;
- The Sierra Nevada views from my back deck;
- Antarctica in late winter-early spring, when the ocean freezes icebergs in place and they glow in varying shades of blue, from pale baby to deep turquoise, against the blinding-white frozen sea;
- The Santa Ynez Valley, along Hwy. 154 behind Santa Barbara, California;
- The tiny town of Egg, in the Swiss Alps;
- The view up the Hudson from West Point, especially in the autumn.
The list goes on, but that's what comes to mind right now.

Most Beautiful Place
COSTA RICA, probably Ural area, but any of the rain forests is enough to see what paradise was probably like. |

have a lot of favorites actually
I have two so far..
1. Bad Geistein in the Austrian Alps -The Austrian alps was the most breath-taking view i have ever seen. The white snow, the chilly yet romantic air, it's just so to-die-for.
2. New York city (my hometown)- Not that this is where i live, but you can find anything you need here. from soup restos to chinese takeouts at 1 am.

RE: have a lot of favorites actually
I'm so fickle, I see beauty in most places.
However, there's a certain walk near where I was brought up in Gwent, South Wales, with a wonderful mix of woodland, wild flowers, and open field.
It's difficult to beat in the springtime :o)
Chris (already dreaming of the next beautiful place he is going to visit...) |

The only place I've been outside of the U.S. is Niagara Falls, Canada. While I enjoyed the power of the falls...the most beautiful place I've been to is the Smoky Mountain National Park. I sat next to a small waterfall that ran into a creek surrounded by trees, yet clear enough to enjoy the vision of mountain after mountain with "smoke" rising from them.

It's really quite a feat to think of one...
Hello,
Just registered, and had to check out the forums to see what the buzz was about. That brought me here in this thread. And, frankly, I can't think of a choice on what I would like to consider as the best and most beautiful places. There's Hawaii, Niagara Falls, Costa Rica's beach, Rajastan in India, and more.
