Panasonic cordless phone system KX-TG4000B

This phone system comes with a base unit, and as many cordless units you want to purchase seperately. We purchased six phone systems seperately for our office use. Every single cordless phone has a faulty # 1. Please keep this in mind when considering the purchase of this product.

Amazing I have 6 phones also and the one doesn't work properly on any of them.

When I called Panasonic they said "so" and offered to fix them for 89.95 each.

Shamefully Awful Product

We've had this phone with two handsets for about 4 years. Early on the one keys on the handsets went south. They seem to on all of them an Panasonic's attitude is that it's just too bad and they'll keep your money anyway.

Now, I need to replace a handset and find the best price to be $100, which is highway robbery.

I'm buying a wired 4 line phone tonight.

RE: Shamefully Awful Product

4yrs for a land line phone isn't that bad although Panasonic used to be better than that. Consider one of Uniden's "premium" lines.

pathetic

Have used this phone for 18 months and immediately after install the problems started. I sincerely believed that it couldn't be the fault of our new system as Panasonic had a flawless history with me. I placed multiple calls to the local ph utility to sort, bought new batts for all cordless units and base, called Panasonic multiple times and the abbreviated version of their response was "bummer - looks like you're schtuped". The KX-TG4000B phone system has been discontinued and for good reason. It's junk.

Sadly... even if you want to buy replacement handsets while fantasizing that somehow your problems will go away, you can't. No new handsets are being made that are compatible and Panasonic is simply hanging you out to dry. Your option is to replace the system entirely or get scalped trying to buy new or refurbished handset units.

Sad.

I originally bought my set from Costco and am taking them back. I'd rather Panasonic felt the brunt of their error than subsidize their willingness to abandon their customer base after knowingly providing faulty product.

Oh yeah... the #1 button is defective on all our units as well but it really is a minor issue considering the pathetic overall system quality and performance.

RE: pathetic

Yup! That's just sad. Doesn't your phone come with a warranty so you can have it replaced for a new one?

Anyway, I found this site on the net: http://www.pickyguide.com/electronics/cordless_telephones_guide.html
and it recommends various types, brands, and models of cordless phones. I am browsing through it right now as I want to purchase a new intercom system for the house.

Panasonic KX-TG4000G #1 TROUBLE

I had have this system probably for about 6 years, problems with #1 in both handsets started probably into the 2nd year of use....It is a shame that we all have this problem with such an expensive product ($600.00 aprox.) and can't do anything about it.

TG4000B Never Failed

We've had 8 stations--the master, one desktop cordless, and 6 portable cordless units--running constantly for 5 years now, and no unit has ever failed in any way. The only problem we've had is that in our house the range isn't as large as we'd like. The master unit is in my office at one corner of the house, and cordless units don't work more than 50 feet away. This problem may be due to the fact that the master unit's antenna is right next to my computer monitor, though. I wish I could get an extender/repeater, so that we could have a reliable signal every where in the house, but that's the next generation system, alas.

RE: Panasonic KX-TG4000G #1 TROUBLE

I work at a law office that recently purchased a Panasonic KX-TG4000B phone system. Shortly after purchase the #1 button stopped working. It is quite apparent that many other people have also had the same problem and my firm is interested in bringing a class action against Panasonic. If you have had the same problem with this Pansonic phone or know someone who has, please reply here so you can be part of this action and receive your just compensation. Thank you.

RE: Panasonic KX-TG4000G #1 TROUBLE

I would like to become a member of that class.

I have KX-TG4000B base station with 3 of the wireless handsets and every one of them has a failed #1 button on the handset.

Panasonic NEEDS to resolve this issue - these are clearly defective phones.
