Samsonite Energy Battery Charger

I did a search here for 'samsonite battery chargers' and there are five listed, but not one for Model LR36665. I wanted to write a review on the unit that I bought but couldn't see how to do it. So, here goes:

This is a very small unit that holds two-four AA or AAA NiHy batteries. It appears to not have an auto cut-off and, as far as I can tell, it has ruined about eight batteries that I've put in it. After an initial overnite charge, the batteries were very hot to the touch. Those batteries only lasted about 30 mins in my Canon Powershot A530 (which is not a particularly power-hungry camera). I bought new batteries and tried again; charging for about four hours. They were also pretty hot to the touch and discharged quickly in my camera. Perhaps this charger would be ok for travel due to its compactness and if one only charged batteries in it for a hour or so. At this point I do not recommend this battery charger.
