I recently decided to purchase a digital camera and started browsing through epinions to decided which one was best suited for my needs. I finally decided on a fuji 2800 and now needed to figure out who to buy it from. I first was going to go with the fuji 3800 and purchase it from buy.com, but I ran into terrible customer service before I even purchased the camera (please see my review of buy.com). I then decided to purchase the 2800 model from a major .com store hoping for better customer service (I could afford the fuji 3800 through buy.com, but it seems their good prices are the only thing good about the company, and that is why I switched to the more affordable fuji 2800). I looked at (all .coms) walmart, kmart, staples, target, best buy, office max, office depot, sears, etc. The price was pretty much the same at each store (299.99). I was going to go through walmart, and then at the last minute I decided to check Amazon just for the heck of it. I remembered that my brother-in-law purchased his digital camera through Amazon and he said he got a really good deal. I checked at Amazon and couldn't believe my eyes. They had the Fuji 2800 BRAND NEW through OFFICE DEPOT.COM for 259.99. The shipping was less than 9 bucks and I got the camera in FOUR days!!!!! I didn't even place a rush order on it. Yes I had to pay for shipping (which was a very reasonable price), but I saved by not having to pay sales tax. My camera came in a padded box in perfect condition. I am very, very glad that I took a few extra minutes to check out Amazon. It really saved me some bucks. What really was weird to me was that the same camera on Officedepot.com was 299.99, but on Amazon through the same company it was 40 bucks cheaper!!! I don't know why and don't really care, I just know I'll be checking Amazon from now on!!!! I will do business with them again, and I highly recommend them to my friends and family.
