I have over 800 CD's. In fact, I have so many that sometimes I buy duplicates inadvertently. The kind of music I listen to, esoteric to say the least, isn't for the most part stuff I can give away to my kids....the solution, Amazon.com. It is SO simple--just do a search for the title you want to sell to find the same CD, then click on the "buy used" button, and then on "I have one to sell." Amazon will walk you through the requirements: basically, define the cd's condition (fairly stringent requirements--no scratches, identify the condition according to specific standards), then decide the price you want. Amazon allows an amount less or equal to its own selling price, and recommends a price for your cd based on its condition and the average amount others are selling for on the site, based on past purchases. You ship the cd directly to the seller after Amazon credits your account with the payment.
That's it--your payment is received from the seller and credited to your checking account (approximately once per week.) You can contact the buyer direct to resolve any issues. I have had very good success selling cd's on Amazon--about 75% of what I have listed has sold--and they are esoteric, remember? Folk music, some new stuff, some oldies. Buyers rate the sellers based on criteria such as accuracy of item descriptions, time elapsed from their order date to receipt of the cd, and condition of both cd's and shipped package. I find this a really great way to reduce my collection and make a little cash. Customer service has been a great help on the few occasions when there have been problems. I am sold on Amazon.com's program for selling CD's online.
