During the last holiday season, I ordered a couple hundred $s in books from bn.com. Over half of them arrived to me in less-than-new condition. Most of them were warped like they were exposed to moisture. A couple were smashed due to insufficient packaging. Several had defective pages. Even the card deck had five defective cards. These books came in multiple shipments from different locations so it wasn't just one isolated incident.
The prices were reasonable, everything arrived as ordered, and they refunded all the books I returned. But I don't like going through the hassle of returning damaged goods, so I won't be ordering anything through bn.com in the future. (The Barnes and Noble stores are decent.)
