I love this internet store. Want to buy a CD? You can usually listen to excerpts of one to many tracts, to find out if it is what your really want. I have seen artists on TV commercials, entertainment news and talk shows. I immediately went to Amazon.com to listen or learn about them. I have spent entertaining
evenings (without buying) just listening. The "spelling forgiving" search engine has allowed me to find oldies from my past.
Interested in a book or a subject? Many times excerpts are available to read. Reviews are usually available, along with alternate book and/or author choices. There have been times when I wanted to learn something but did not know exactly what the topic would be. I was able to target what I needed with a few search choices.
In depth tutorials are available to help you select products or learn to use them. I've learned about digital cameras and photo imaging written by photographers and graphic artists.
CD's and books just scratch the surface. Electronics, computers, software, kids stuff, kitchen and garden... the list goes on and on.
Too shy to tell your family or friends what you want? Make up a wish list on the site, direct them to it and let them decide.
What have I purchased at Amazon.com? CD's, books, digital camera, scanner, software and CD player are just a few. I have sent gifts and received gifts. They can be gift wrapped (for just a buck or two) in paper you select, and come with your personalized message.
Do you have a name brand something you don't use, didn't like, got tired of? You can sell it on Amazon.com, right beside the same new product. Or, buy a used one yourself at a lower price.
I have a few internet stores where I compare prices before I buy. Amazon usually comes out on top. On one occasion when the price was a bit higher they had a special on free shipping that won out, over the other company to which I had compared them.
I have never had a problem with service or delivery. On a couple of occasions I had to wait for them to procure a relatively unknown software program, but it was far less expensive than buying it from the manufacturer's web site.
This isn't INSTANT GRATIFICATION. You have to wait a couple days for shipping. But you don't have to put on makeup to shop. No distractions of clerks, shoppers or inconvenient store hours. Focus on what you need or want AND do it in your underwear at 3 am! The competitive prices and convenience of no driving, parking or lost time, make up for the shipping charges.
