The Lessons Of WMD

The Bottom Line Keep an open mind.
WMD - Weapons of Mouthy Destruction
"You don't look happy!" is one of those phrases I think of as a weapon when it is delivered with a smile.
Although I'm not privy to the thoughts of those using the phrase, I do not believe it is used as a device of friendliness; such as "I hope you feel better", or "It is good to see you".
Oddly enough, the person using the phrase is often offended if their sarcasm is returned in kind,eg; "Go #$%^^& yourself".
Unfortunately there is no appropriate response. The statement "You don't look happy!" is an empty phrase used to provoke or harm. Therefore, responding to it is a complete waste of time.
However, there is value to be found even in useless provocations. Of most value is you are immediately provided with a strong character assessment of your attacker.
Keep this in mind and it may change your perspective on this type of assault.
