I am a happy customer of amazon.com and half.com but one day I decided to give Barnes and Nobles' bn.com a try. Actually the main incentive was $5 discount and the free shipping. Apart from this their prices are not that much different from competitors, their search engine is not perfect and the customer reviews system is quite poor, compared to the excellent one on amazon.
The last straw is that after 12 days since placing my order (it was in November 2001) the merchandise (just a few CDs and a book) has not arrived and the poor tracking system (run by some outside company called dropshipexpress) shows it is "en route". The customer service is slow in responding or even silent, i.e. does not respond at all. I am going to stop my credit card payment and cancel this order.
Never again bn.com. I hope they go to the dot.com hell :-|
