Pros: New, nice amenities and furnishing, staff
Cons: Housekeeping, location is a bit busy, could be noisey
The Bottom Line: If you are looking to stay right off the highway, but close to food/shopping is a good choice.

| krunett's Full Review: Springhill Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport |
Recently stayed at this property and thought I'd put my thoughts down.
Location Is located right off I-95 and in a busy area Stirling Rd. that has a lot of big box stores and some restaurants further down. Is about two miles from a movie theater and nice outdoor retail area with a Sweet Tomatoes, a steakhouse and some other restaurants. Is located right next to a Burger King (is the best way to enter the property). I would strongly recommend asking for a room not facing the highway. I could easily see there being a lot of noise facing the highway side.
Check-in/Lobby Check-in was easy, however I called earlier in the day to request a room not facing the highway and when I checked in they didn't have that request in the system. Nevertheless, they were able to accommodate my request. There is a "pantry" area with a lot of different snacks and drink options. Free cookies were available at the front desk.
The lobby is absolutely beautiful with a waterfall and bright colors throughout. There are a lot of tables available for meeting up with colleagues/family. There is an outdoor pool that had a waterfall as well, was very nice. The exercise room is off the pool area and featured a few treadmills, elliptical and a bike.
Room This is where I have to knock the hotel a little bit. When you are in the lobby you see how clean and new the hotel is, but when you get to your room there was a little disappointment, mostly in the housekeeping area. The hotel is a one room suite. There is a nice counter with a sink, microwave, coffee maker and a mini-fridge. There is a couch and two cubed tables as well as a desk and chair. There was a beautiful 27" LCD TV on a stand which could be used for the bedroom or the living room, however couldn't figure out closed caption. There is also a TV in the bedroom area.
The bathroom could have bit more clean. I enjoyed the dual headed shower, great pressure, it did take a little while for the water to get hot. The provide nice amenities, including a small body wash. Towels were clean. The floor had a few hairs, which was just unsanitary and the grout just looked a bit dirty, as did the drain in the tub.
Beds were okay on the comfort side, give you plenty of pillows (including poly), however the pillow had a hair on the back of it and there was another one on the bed. The sheet also had a blue pen stain, and the top sheet was very wrinkled. Not sure what happened there, don't think I want to know, however the hotel really needs to look closer at the detail regarding housekeeping.
Overall I loved the LCD TV, wish I could have gotten closed caption to work. Hotel is very close to the Hollywood area and I-95. Very nice lobby and amenities, just wish housekeeping would have been a bit better.
