Reliable, quick but avoid pre-orders

Shopping at Overstock.com is usually a good experience. They tell you right on the item description if that item is in stock and if it is almost sold out.
The only problem I've had with Overstock is when I pre- order items that are not yet in stock. The items take forever to come in and on a couple of occasions, books I have pre ordered have simply been deleted from Overstock's website. They never received them and I had to look elsewhere for the same item.
I have purchased books, CDs, DVDs, watches, and home furnishings from Overstock and the items are always of good quality. The shipping time for most purchases is very quick - often 2-4 days!
Shipping cost is very reasonable and sometimes free, which is a great deal!
I often check Overstock for specialty books before buying them from other websites. They don't have every book I want, but when they do have it, it is normally at a substantial savings over a competitior's website (especially if it is a specialty item.)
I would recommend Overstock for all items that they sell. Of course, it is smart to check other websites first to make sure you really are getting a good deal (which you usually are.) The only thing I would caution against is pre-ordering items, especially books. These can take forever comapred to their in stock items which are shipped quickly!
