In today's world we seldom open windows any longer for that fresh outdoor smell. This often results in a stale ‘canned air' feeling in the home. So many products are available today to help us along, especially these nice automatic spray ones.
AirWick FreshMatic is a perfect dispenser. Not unattractive in appearance, it can easily sit among books on a shelf and feel right at home. You can also mount it on the wall. It measures about 6"x4"x9" in size. It comes in several different scents: Fresh Waters, Sparkling Citrus, Vanilla Passion, Harvest Spice, Lavender, Papaya & Mango. The unit is supplied with two batteries, the dispenser and the fragrance of your choice.
Assembly is simple. After removing from the carton, insert the batteries, slide the fragrance can into the holder, close lid and step back. You have the option to calibrate the poofs of fragrance between 9, 18 and 36 minutes. I elected for the 36 minutes, figuring even the worst house can stale up in 36 minutes. Sure enough, right on time, it poofed the fragrance into the room. On the 36 minute setting it says it will last 60 days.
The odor isn't heavy or cloying, just the right amount to freshen the air, even in a large room. I will admit, however, you need to be closer to the unit to enjoy the fragrance in a larger room. If you need an extra boost, like right before your mother-in-law walks in the door, it has a small button for that power boost outside the regular timed cycle.
There is a red indicator light that lets you know it is turned on. When the light turns green, it is time to change your aerosol can. Seriously, could they make this any easier?
Make sure when you place the fragrance canister in the unit that you direct it away from your face because as soon as you shut the holding door it emits a poof of spray. You don't want the fragrance spraying into your eyes, mouth or even directly into your nostrils.
AirWick products have been around for years and it seems that they are continually changing and advancing with the times. Anyone remember those old bottles of liquid scent that had a wick you pulled up out of the bottle to dispense the smell? Thinking back, they were pretty obtrusive and the smell was rather medicinal. That goodness things have evolved and I can feel like I am basking at the beach or munching on a ripe mango, with these scents in my home.
Thanks, Susi
