| dibeaudacious's Full Review: Cross Ranch State Park |
We pulled into Cross Ranch on the second week in April, just in time to see the spectacular grouse in their mating dance mode. The rangers here set up a blind that provided an excellent view to watch their beauty and dance. The weather was great, the spring rains made the surrounding area burst with fresh green and the wild life viewing was outstanding. We encountered a great park ranger, Don Winter, who gave me a personal tour around the area and pointed out different areas of interest to me. As an amateur photographer, this was especially appreciated. I was able to get over 100 pictures of the grouse alone. The river fowl were also splendid. We highly recommend a visit here for a quiet, beautiful, and friendly stay.
