I have been purchasing from Amazon for years. I live out in the boonies and don't worry about fast delivery. I like Amazon's free shipping for a few extra days wait. Amazon ships UPS, which I prefer. (UPS knows where I live and where I want deliveries put. I don't like Fed Ex, since they have to subcontract the delivery out for my area, and are always late or leave it at a local gas station. I avoid shopping at online stores that use Fed Ex.)
I have always received what was ordered. I have purchased all kinds of items. My hobbies are woodworking, astronomy, electronics (making and burning home movies from tape to DVD) watching DVD movies, and motorcycling. I have purchased over a $1000 worth of DVD movies from them.
Amazon has always sent new items that worked as expected. On only one occasion did I have to return an item. A Harry Potter DVD did not play correctly. After a simple call, Amazon took it back and sent another with no questions or problems.
In the last two months I have purchased two Garmin GPS units, a Nuvi 350 and a Streetpilot 2720. I also bought a hardwire power kit for the 2720. All three deliveries arrived on or before the scheduled time, were well packaged, and work as expected.
Amazon's prices are usually competitive, especially if you figure in free shipping. When they are significantly higher than another online store that I like, I use the other store. I used the Amazon visa for a while, but decided to cut back on my credit cards, and it was one that got cut. Amazon makes tracking a purchase very easy. Overall, I like Amazon and will continue to purchase from them.
