Extremely slow shipping and poor customer service. Will never shop with again!!!!!!

I purchased a book for school from Amazon and turned down the free shipping in order to receive my book sooner. The shipping which I purchased promised to be delivered in 2 to 5 days.
The first complaint that I have is that the book was bought early in the business day and was not shipped until the following day in the late afternoon (6:00pm). This I feel is something that would happen with a small and untrustworthy company. A company as large as Amazon.com who relies 100% on shipping their products should be able to ship their products the same day when given enough time to do so.
My second complaint is that it seems as though my book is not expected to get to me 7 days after it was shipped (8 from the day of purchase) but may not be at my door step for a full 9 days from the date of my purchase. This is unacceptable; I purchased the upgraded shipping due to the fact that I have an exam which I need the book to study for. Due to the extremely under estimated delivery time I am now without my book and unable to prepare for my exam.
When I contacted Amazon I was offered a refund of my shipping and told that they were sorry but availability of a product can also be a factor in the shipping time. My response to them was that my book was in fact in stock and that even from the day of actual shipping I am still looking at a much longer time than estimated for the delivery of my item. They apparently did not have an answer for that as I have not received a response back from them.
Thanks Amazon, I will never shop with you again.
