In my quest for books, I have found two sites to be invaluable. AMAZON.com and ABEBOOKS.com. Equipped with these two sites, I have all of the information on almost any book I could want or need.
AMAZON FOR NEW AND DESCRIPTIONS
When I look for a book, I prefer used. I only buy new books when I know I will read them over and over or if they are reference books I want to last.
AMAZON.COM is a perfect place to find descriptions on almost any book you could want, including some out-of-print books.
WHAT IS IT LIKE
Well, from what I have seen, there are very few people that have not been to AMAZON.COM, so I will be brief here.
The opening page gives you opportunities to look for all kinds of things.

You can also reach your account and your shopping cart from any page. There is a wish list you can make out and send the URL to your friends to make shopping for you easier.
Intelligent searches give you ideas of books that might be like what you have looked at.
There are so many features at AMAZON.com. I can not possible talk of them all here in this small review.
AMAZON FOR BOOKS
Although I have shopped for games and electronic equipment on Amazon, I am going to concentrate on books here.
When you type in the search box, you have options to make your search more specific. I am looking through all of the stock.
SAMPLE SEARCH
I am going to look for a book that has been out of print for a while.
MURDERED HEIRESS, LIVING WITNESS, by Petti Wagner.
I type in Petti Wagner.
On the next page I am taken to a list of choices.
There is a new book available and then there are used books at Zshops for prices listed that vary.
There is also a signed version on auction.
Hmm.. Tempting.
AUCTION OR ZSHOPS
If I opt for purchases in either place, I will be asked to sign in with AMAZON. I have a password and my credit information is on file. ( I use a specific card for this for protection) .
I have to sign in and make sure my personal information is correct. Then all transactions are handled by Amazon, so I am protected if something goes wrong. They are the only ones that handle my information so again, it is a limited exposure.
If I purchase the book at either place, then Amazon sends the message to them, they send me the book and all is well.
NEW PAGE
If I go to the actual page where AMAZON sells this book new, I can read reviews from the publisher and then reviews from readers that left comments for others to use as judgement of books worthiness to join their collection.
Like EPINIONS.
If I order the book here, Hmm. it is in print again, then it will ship in one or two weeks. The price is $10.99. I can order with similar information and signing on process as before.
Amazon keeps in touch with me via email. IF there is a problem with the book, they keep me very up to date and they are easy to work with.
You can also talk with them via phone, if you are not comfortable placing credit card orders via phone. You give the last 4 digits when ordering and then call a number and you can give the rest of them.
I have used that service and it is great.
MY COMMENTS
There are excellent reviews on AMAZON.COM. You can listen to music samples of many CD's you can not hear anywhere else. You can purchase computer software at excellent prices.
You can read and learn about prospective purchases in the excellent reviews found on each book or CD. If you prefer, there are places to buy books used as well as new if they are available.
You can also sell a book there if you have it.
AMAZON.COM is a high class operation. The staff is professional and very easy to work with. I have enjoyed my encounters with them to date.
I have made about 12 transactions with them in the last year. Every one has been excellent.
If you can not find a book used on AMAZON and prefer not to purchase used, you can then mosey on over to my other favorite site,
www.abebooks.com.
Together, they are the dynamic duo. They make the life of a booklover a heavenly one, if you know what I mean.
BY THE WAY
If you want to read a fantastic book, you should get that one I looked up for you in this review. I did not know it was back in print until just now along side you.
It is a story about a woman actually murdered and then she came back from the dead and testified against the people who REALLY murdered her.
There is documentation through the whole book including her death certificate.
This is a TRUE story. I first heard Dr. Wagner on an interview, and got the book when I saw it in a store years ago. Our friends knew her pastor (he gives the forward in the book) and they told us (after we asked them to inquire about her) that it was true!
It is a book you can not put down, and it is TRUE! Truth is stranger than fiction, for sure.
