Super Saver Shipping - not worth it

This was my first time ordering from Amazon, but I am a frequent online shopper at other stores. I must say that so far, I am extremely disappointed. The reason I purchased my items from Amazon was because they had a cheaper price for a 3-way cable splitter then any other store I could find. I added a DVD to my order in order to qualify for the free super saver shipping. That was a huge mistake.
I placed the order on a Friday, and it said that the items would ship on the following Monday (as expected, since the item ships next day). I received an email on Monday stating that my order was complete and shipping that day. However, according to their order tracking page, my shipment was not actually shipped until Thursday (6 days after my original order!) The expected delivery date is next Tuesday, a full 11 days after my order date. To make it even worse, the package is shipping from north of Pittsburgh, and I live in Cleveland - that's only 110 miles away. I could drive to Pennsylvania, pick up my package, and return home within 4 hours. How is it going to take Amazon 4 days to get it to me? If it really did ship on Thursday, it will be in Cleveland on Thursday!
Based on my experience, I can only assume that Amazon intentionally delayed my order because I was getting free shipping. I've ordered from other companies with super saver shipping before, and none of them had any problem getting me my shipment in 3-5 days (sometimes even sooner if it ships from a place, say, only 110 miles away). It's bad policy to delay orders on purpose, and I will most likely pay the extra money to shop at a different store in the future. completely unacceptable.
